The humor is enjoyable and most times the drama is interesting to watch. If it's not, though, then you can always enjoy the humorous sub-plots. I'm watching this over a decade late, but I still like it. But I do wish Nick would syndicate more episodes so that I can watch the entirety of the series. I mean, I could always buy the DVD of the series, but I worry that that would make me less willing to watch Friends on television. The only time I'm unhappy is when I go to school and work, when I'm in class and have opportunities to converse with other people. Of course, there's an upside: most of the time I'm so socially awkward that I don't know how to make any small talk even if I wanted to. I love how I'm always so afraid of people not wanting to talk to me because I'm that smart Chinese bloke who never stops answering the instructor's questions, and never gives other people opportunities to show their intelligence in class. I'm not self-conscious or ashamed about that whatsoever! I totally have no reason to believe that other people might dislike me because I constantly show that I'm smart. Nope, there ain't no reason to be ashamed or afraid to talk to other people in class. Even if I did, it's so relieving to find that half the class isn't as interested in the subject matter as I am, and are therefore less inclined to talk about it. I have no other topics about which to converse. I love having no hobbies, especially to do on the weekends, when I'm trying to relax and not think about school. I love having little means of escapism from my school-work-home life. This inability of mine to relax is just a huge blessing. That's just how awesome my life is. I also love hearing about how other people have worse lives than I do: people who have actual depression and such. It totally doesn't belittle my own sadness. I love being ashamed of being so self-centered, and uncaring for those nameless people who are very likely unhappier than me. --- Number XII: Larxene. The Organization's Savage Nymph. |
