It's sort of a mentor's job to advocate for their protege though so them getting you your next promotion isn't necessarily evidence of unprofessional behavior.

There are ways to actually make this game's formula more appealing in a Fire Emblem type way. Like I'd really like a mode where you basically simulate an actual Fire Emblem game by sending unleveled versions of your characters with no skills through a series of maps and building em up as they go. Or making maps that take several screens that you can flick through, or whatever.

And then there are random rhythm games

Why are we wasting time developing random rhythm games when you can actually add Fire Emblemy content to the game I don't get it.

Because they were halfway through their town building sim when they got the survey results back, went "oh shit, they hate this idea," and threw together whatever they could at the last minute to get it out by the anniversary.

The people saying it don't feel like it's being dumbed-down, they feel it's finally something they can speak about honestly without obfuscating the issue. What you call deeper territory is therefore seen as evasion. At least in a lot of cases. So like, I think what you see as "trying to earn social capital" is just them giving their honest beliefs on an essay (that they probably didn't read very closely, because college).

That said, your instructor definitely fucked up by not finding a way to engage both viewpoints, because that could have been an interesting discussion if he had run it better.

Axe infantry aren't the most common class so Linus is an easy choice there (also distinguishes him from Lloyd and gets him away from sword infantry hell). Mind you he'd likely be free and they love giving us free sword infantry so who knows.

The "living wage" is like $13 bucks/hr in the most expensive places in the US. If you're making 11 an hour pick up a second job and work an extra 7 hours a week. You're at a "living wage" in the most expensive parts of the U.S.

Or you can do literally anything to show that you are worth giving a raise to (which is actually pretty easy, companies would much rather give an entry/low level employee and extra buck or two to keep them around then have a constant rotation of shit workers.)

We can talk about this a bunch of different ways but the point is always: bonuses are good, raises are better, people are still super underpaid so the problem isn't solved. The single largest employer (by a landslide) just raised their minimum wage that requires the least skilled workers in America.

Walmart, Wells Fargo, J.p. morgan, Starbucks. 4 of the top 25 employers in the US have done so in a matter of weeks of the new tax plan taking hold. As opposed to minimum wage hikes inducing businesses to move forward with automated labor and employee / hour cuts. It's amazing what you can afford to pay people when the government isn't stealing your money.

Does that raise mean they pay their employees a living wage now?
