Finally finished my replay of Apollo Justice. I think it was the game I've gone the longest without replaying (probably at least 5 years?)

Relative to my memories:
4-1 underwhelmed a bit
4-2 was a little better
4-3 started off better than I remember, but then the second trial day was such a struggle to get through. Still probably the worst case in the series for me.
4-4 is still good! I think I dislike 4-0 a lot less than many people here (it's certainly not great, but it has a lot of Valant!), and the MASON stuff is really cool.

I'm heading into my replay of DD now. I can't remember if they ever explained why Juniper lost whatever amount of personality she had in 5-3 for 5-1, but man. What a lame character.

One other quick question: is there a way to turn off text skipping in DD without wiping your save? I typically like to have it off because I often accidentally skip stuff otherwise (though I guess the transcript makes this less problematic than it would be in earlier games).

I never played Sticker Star. The writing still seemed good in Color Splash and painting stuff was fun, but the card mechanic got kind of annoying after a while. I only got maybe 10 hours in, though. Maybe I'll get back to it some time.

Just came in to say AAI2's Justine Courtney is one of the worst AA characters and by far the worst rival character in the series. I'm playing the beginning of case 4 and she has been such a terrible all-round character since her introduction that she is actually starting to get under my skin. If the developers were trying to make her a hateable character, then good freaking job but somehow I don't think it was their intention.

Debeste is great though. He's been the funniest thing going on in the game so far.

But seriously. Justine Courtney is just the worst. Such a terrible character.

She gets better (but not by enough to make up for the earlier cases)

I beat the game with the bad ending. I fought the boss for the true ending once (and was completely destroyed) and then gave up as soon as I realized I would have to beat the fake final boss again every time I died.

Yeah that's what I am saying. But the focus of the criticism I've seen has largely (and incorrectly) been on his characterization of the countries, which I think is perfectly accurate.

Saying "Haiti is a shithole" is a fact. Saying "Haiti is a shithole and therefore I don't want any of its people immigrating here" is closeminded. If the place is a shithole, then why wouldn't you want to reward the people to work to escape that?

I don't think I've seen anybody make the distinction you're making. Like, I'm fairly sure I haven't seen somebody go "How dare he call the country, and only the country, a shithole!"

That's my quick take from the headlines I've been reading. "Trump calls Haiti a 'shithole'" instead of "Trump says he doesn't want more immigration from 'shithole' countries."

I agree that it's the wrong focus. We already knew that Trump was a racist; the story here is that this racism is actually translating into explicitly racist immigration policies.
