TheCyborgNinja
02/19/18 3:32:22 AM

My dad's old partner (the law enforcement kind, not a romantic one... as far as we know :P) must've been a platinum digger. He wound up going out with the daughter of some billionaire that had a company that would rebuild Florida after hurricanes and stuff (example I was given). They had a yacht with a fulltime crew and I think even a helipad. Get this though: he dumped her because he felt insecure about her wealth. The fool!

People doubted these stories, but there was precedence. In one instance, he and my dad were working on something with the FBI (I think, but it may have been another federal agency - this was like 15 years ago) and they had to go to Southern California to meet with other members of the task force and he had some millionaire plastic surgeon girlfriend down there that kept stuffing money in the his pockets and she kept buying him and my dad stuff. She even gave the hotel her credit card and told them to get whatever they wanted, etc...

To this day I have no idea why these middle-aged 1%'er women kept throwing themselves at the guy. You'd think they'd be ugly or have bad personalities, but the one my dad met was apparently attractive and kind. I met this guy a couple of times, he was cool enough, but what the hell was his secret? Maybe he had a huge wiener or something?! Magic powers?

He finally got it all done and the next four people (myself included) were served in half the time he took. You could tell he felt dumb watching everyone else not suck at existing. "That's how you do it!"

I feel like they should have made all the food for you guys first. And then his. If he takes an insanely long time to order, he order should take an insanely long time to finish cooking...

It was insane. He was basically like "uh..... what is good?" then when she recommended something he would reply with "well, what about that" and point to something else (multiple times). She ended up pulling out these employee study guides or something to show him. He wasn't mentally handicapped or super old. There was nothing obviously wrong with him. His teenage daughter walked away midway through it all lol... After he finally ordered, he then said "wait, can I get some spicy and some regular chicken." The cashier asks "half and half?" - OH FUCK..... He took another minute to figure out the specific ratio, which was 40% spicy... He was the worst. At one point, one of the cooks gave me this "can you believe this shit?!" look from the back. His chicken probably got farted on.

i just want these sorts of people to see that this is essentially what they're supporting and fueling for once instead of acting like they're fighting for some noble cause

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/02/16/florida-shooting-white-nationalists-415672

Following misrepresentations by a white nationalist leader and coordinated efforts by internet trolls, numerous researchers and media outlets spread a seemingly false claim that the man charged with killing more than a dozen people at a Florida high school belonged to an extremist group.

Season 6 was where I started to check out. It was the last good one.

I think South Park has stood the test of time better than most shows. From seasons 1-18, only 1 and 16 were kind of spotty, but you kind of have to forgive the first because many good shows still need time to find their footing. 21 was far better than 19 and 20 were (they were shit, honestly), so there's hope it will still be fun. The Fractured but Whole was honestly tied for 2017 GotY with Persona 5 for me, and felt like a 14~ hour episode.

The only reason America even became independent was because France helped them in a number of ways to spite Britain. It wasn't some plucky militiamen, it was an empire stretched too thin fighting another empire and prioritizing somewhere else within their domain.

hardly the only reason, but certainly a big factor. you are truly delusional if you think you can reduce the complexities of a military victory so easily.

Well, if you remove the French from the equation, as in supplying American troops and fighting Britain elsewhere. Say they didn't have an empire or any ambition and sat there, the colonies would've remained under the boot of King George, easily. That's why I said "only" - without them, there was no chance.
