It's a flawed logic. I agree with you.

I guess America was founded on "fear of government" principles though. The settlers were Puritans who backed Oliver Cromwell's Republican England at some point and when people decided they wanted newspapers and dancing legalized again that was the end of their uptight utopia and across the Atlantic they ultimately went. Fast forward to the revolutionary war... Despite having one of the better setups within the British Empire, it wasn't good enough (though I understand wanting representation within parliament given their major contributions - they were still subjects of the crown as well, not conquered peoples or foreigners). Decades after independence, 1812 saw the original White House burned to the ground by redcoats, which didn't help... It probably wasn't until WWI that the paranoia of another war with England finally subsided. That fear then became directed at the new, emboldened and interventionist agenda that prevailed following the big wars.

The King of England isn't interested in retaking the colonies. The USA possesses the mightiest professional army on Earth. The second amendment is largely unnecessary and should be tightened up significantly like in Australia and Canada... Don't ban them all outright, but at least heavily restrict them.

To play my own devil's advocate though, the amount of criminals carrying firearms in America is intimidating and worth consideration, but the majority of gun-related fatalities seem to be done with legally purchased firearms. Drug dealers only shooting each other really doesn't matter much, and that's probably where you'll find most illegally acquired weapons being used anyway.

At this point though, the problem has just gotten too big to solve and the wrong people feel too passionately about having guns, to the point it'd spark a rebellion over "big government finally seizing control" (it already has, but let them pretend, it's adorable). In a prophetic twist of irony regarding that sentiment, it would probably take a pure authoritarian regime to actually implement a repeal of the second amendment.

Jeez. I don't think I could handle seeing that.

Stuff like that only bothers me if it's an innocent. We went out for a family lunch once and a pregnant woman and her father (iirc) were killed on a crosswalk by a dude who ran a red light. I can't remember if they managed to save the baby or not, but the husband of the young woman was widowed with another kid, I think (and this was just before Xmas, no less)... They just had a big sheet over them and tried to block the view as best they could. We later found out those other details, but we were there like right after the EMS people and police. That bothered me even though I didn't see it actually happen. The other guys, I just thought "good" and continued about my day. I didn't even lose my appetite :P

It's not the cheating, as shitty as that is. It's the denial and outright lying about it. Which was also the real issue with Clinton and ultimately why he was impeached.

People should expect more transparency and at the very least to not be lied to by elected officials. Even if they tend to be scummy. Accountability is vital.

what does it matter if a politican lies about their personal life? as long as it's legal idc what they do in their personal time, unless it affects their job

Lying about personal life while being in office, even if the event took place prior to election, is a shitty precedent. The paying off was only done during the campaign to prevent news stories and interviews from coming out, so it has relevance and potential influence to him even being elected at all.

Are you genuinely asking why people may care that the leader of their country is ok with lying on the record?

No, his personal life before he was a president isn't your business. He doesn't have to confirm or deny anything unless he wants to.

Besides, this again is a drop in the bucket of scumdom. Why are we acting like this is some breakthrough?

Low-hanging fruit. The serious charges will still take time to finish being investigated and prosecuted. In the mean time, this one's pretty much already been confirmed. It's just easy, and the public loves hearing about politician's sex scandals and infidelities. The media always swarms over this stuff, regardless of which party the guy belongs to.

At least they're being investigated. The walking bag of sewage known as Justin Trudeau was found to have committed four ethics violations while in office (breaking the previous record of zero) but used his parliamentary majority to vote away the investigation. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?! Even if Trump fired Mueller, there'd be consequences. Here it's an elected dictatorship if somebody gets a majority government, and we've got a guy who is as stupid as he is crazy, but in the opposite direction to America (and it's not better - extremes are bad). I can't wait until 2019 when he will almost certainly get the boot... The west never votes Liberal, and they certainly won't be making that mistake ever again. /rant

so what? we already have enough funding and artillery. if we can't win a landlocked war with a budget 18x higher than the next country we fucking deserve to lose. get it together.

America ditching isolationism benefitted nobody. Everything is vastly more unstable today than it otherwise probably would've been globally.

WWI would have almost certainly ended in a more even peace treaty without any US involvement (including smuggling arms in passenger ships), so it's very unlikely there'd have been much (if any) fuel for the Nazi fire a couple of decades later. Then the east... Stalin was happy to sit behind his iron curtain and marvel at his version of Russia. He didn't want a war with Europe or to "unite all the workers of the world" like Trotsky. His agenda was based on paranoia rather than the desire for conquest. At worst, if there still was a WWII, it would've probably been "everyone versus the USSR" anyway, which is still better than several genocides and a cold war.

1.10 (Euros per litre) =
5.18499587 U.S. dollars per US gallon

if CAD it isn't too bad, a little high, but still lower than some places. if Euros it is super high.

Yeah, but over in Europe everyone makes more money in virtually all employment areas, and many offer free college.

I can understand why.

HW implements 3D Zelda games' fake difficulty of "wait for it!"
All the monsters and officers, the best way to kill them is to patiently wait for them to expose their weakness, then attack. It's very passive and boring. Those used to other Warriors games are used to having options to guard-break foes and create your own openings, actively. By far my biggest gripe w/ HW, though I still think it was a really good game.

That combined with the level design, missions, etc... DQ Heroes 2 is the money crossover.
