Started on houseki no kuni and just finished episode 1. The cgi is interesting. I keep thinking, man this looks like a tales of game I want to play. This season really seems to be stacked with unique ideas. Will continue watching.

It's like 1 part bartender, 1 part hanasaku iroha, 1 part spirted away, and 1 part...idk some high quality yuri bait. I mean its the kind of yuri bait where the characters have clear canon attraction and feelings for each other but they just haven't gotten so far as physically expressing them much.

Also should be mentioned that there are distinctly two types of episodes. One type with a focus on the fox girls and one type with a focus on the guests. The ones with the guests are the ones that felt like bartender and are probably the best part of the series. Episode 8 in particular is really good.

Yeah. Although the fox girls are attendants at an inn that does have hotsprings. The inn exists somewhere between life and death, sometimes people get there through a dream or before passing over to the afterlife but theres also a whole world there and tons of spirits and gods and whatnot also stay at the inn.

The show almost goes out of its way to not explain things which gives it a slightly eerie feeling but the actual content is relaxing slice of life. It comes off as a pleasant dream that you know you have to wake up from. Thats why its both pleasant and happy but also a bit sad. The whole thing feels very fleeting through the eyes of the guests whereas it feels like an everlasting dream through the eyes of the fox spirits. The art is also largely to blame for this as it has amazing vibrant scenery of flowers and trees and an ocean, like, I know I'm saying it a lot but there are just so many beautiful shots of scenery and stuff and it makes feel extra dreamlike.

It's way way better than I expected. I only have two episodes left but I'm already dreading it being over and hope for a second season. IIRC the source material goes on for quite a bit longer than the anime but I may be remembering that wrong. I'm really surprised someone even came up with this idea for an anime but I'm very happy it was so well executed.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, it really reminds of bartender.

People are really sleeping on konohana kitan. This show is amazing. Every episode is beautiful and it has this unique atmosphere thats equal parts comforting, happy and kind of sad. Not quite as much yuri as I initially hoped for but it's so much better as a whole that I don't really mind. I just finished episode 8 which was a really great one. I'll probably write a lot more about it once I actually finish it.

Decided after family xmas stress that Konohana Kitan would be a nice relaxing show and so far it has been great. The blend of yuri-bait/maybe actually straight up yuri with the mystical world they exist in is good. Theres a lot of beautiful scenery and peaceful music and the whole show is just relaxed and pleasant when it's not being painfully adorable. Only 3 eps in but I don't really see much changing. If you are in the mood for something slow paced and relaxing I recommend it thus far.

I mean, I can watch all the anime from this season if I feel like it. I usually burn through each season in a week or so when it ends. Definitely will probably be going after either soma or magus bride first unless I go with yuri foxgirls (might need something like this after stressful holidays). I do intend to check out houseki no kuni and maybe UQ holder but I haven't seen negima and will not read the manga.

Yeah the ares90 is really a game changer when you get it. It's honestly overpowered with only basically perfect skells outperforming it but you have to farm up all the parts and unlock em and stuff. Great game but also shit game. Fuck that one quest where you have to find all the bombs.

Oh shit. The new anime season is over. I got stuff to watch and merry xmas to me, theres a yuri foxgirl show. While not quite catgirls, it'll be close enough. Kinda feels like I'm actually the target audience for something for once.

New soma, like 50 fantasy anime, and a new kino no tabi. I'm quite hopeful and this looks like a season I'll really enjoy. Please don't cut to a week later and massive disappointment.

The source material is LN and I believe each season adapts 2 volumes (of which there were 12 when the second season ended). If there is a manga it was probably just made to sell more light novels just like the anime.

The succubus episode in season 1 of konosuba might be my favorite. I also completely love the ending theme for the first season. It's so relaxing and peaceful and happy and just makes me want to crack open a beer and relax.

Ugh, I just learned of xenoblade 2's existence (thanks dunkey videos) and noticed it's switch exclusive. I'm not about to get a switch for just that so fuck, guess I'll just miss it. Xenoblade and Xenoblade X where two of my all time favorite RPGs so this is a huge bummer.

Been starting and dropping a bunch of stuff. After seeing so much good shit in a small period of time (monogatari, made in abyss, Ippo S1) everything else I can find just kinda feels like crap. I have started rewatching konosuba though which is still amazing. Fuck Kadokawa for killing any chance of a season 3.

Alright, finished Ippo rising. The second half was a bit better than earlier stuff but mostly because they had better story lines and the backstory part was entertaining. Damage still has no persistence and fighting spirit is still turned up to 11 and defying physics and biology at every turn.

It's starting to really piss me off in hajime no ippo how he seems glued to the dempsey roll. Theres so many matches that he is winning without it and then uses it anyway putting himself at risk of being countered for no reason at all. Then whenever someone has an anti dempsey strategy he is all "but thats all I have!". What the fuck. Learn some new moves then like you used to. He is a strong boxer with experience and natural talent but he desperately clings to that one move like a crutch and ironically does better when he is unconscious and sticking to the basics.

Just got through the ryuuhei fight and man was that entirely unsatisfying. The change in music also feels awful. I love sweeping orchestral music as much as the next guy but hajime no ippo's rock tracks had already become a significant part of the atmosphere of the show. It's rough and fast and powerful just like boxing. The orchestral music just feels out of place and the screemo metal stuff is just awful.

Basically everything good I've said about the first series has evaporated. Damage no longer means anything at all, each shot but the last one is meaningless. Originally ippo's punches were serious threats that you couldn't even block without taking significant damage no matter how good you were. Now lanky outboxers are taking barrages of those to the head sometimes as counter punches and not even falling down. There is no realism in the fights anymore and the new characters introduced are nonsensical and don't feel like believable people.

The importance of fighting spirit has gone from something that lets you throw one last punch or get up one more time to something that lets you fight indefinitely at beyond full strength and take an infinite amount of damage.

Even when damage is landed it's recovered from at random speeds. Can't use your legs anymore cause you took too many body blows? Fighting spirit! Now you can. Punches slowing down from exhaustion? Fighting spirit. Now they are faster than ever. The actual fights feel meaningless. The storylines are larger than life bullshit with unrealistic villains that are basically murders and cheaters who everyone forgives instantly as soon as the fight is over. Ugh I hate what this show has become.

Also I guess I'll spoiler tag this part but the way he has tried to evolve the dempsey roll doesn't make any sense. All he needed to do was change the rhythm mid combo which could easily be done by changing the shape of the rotations so that your momentum is maintained and you put virtually no stress on your body and still change the tempo entirely. Instead he comes to a complete stop and then magically punches harder after he starts up again? That's not how physics works. The resulting punch should be weak as hell. He could even just duck down lower during the punch to change the angle or lead with his inside guard to stop counters. I almost don't want to believe the later seasons were written by the same person.

Just finished the first two specials. Just have kimura's match to go before season 2. Ippo is so damn frustrating to watch when it comes to girls. I was glad takamura was beating the shit out of him for it briefly.

Finished the original hajime no ippo series. It was pretty great but it was a shame to see a lot of lazy animation and stalling. So much time every single episode wasted repeating things. That 75 episode series really should have been about 50. The jarring part is that a lot of episodes have lightning fast pacing, almost too fast. They'll be talking about an upcoming match months from now and then just cut to the start of the match.

It was also massively frustrating to watch ippo basically cease to function at the beginning of virtually every match. Once or twice to show the pressure or that he is feeling off is one thing but nearly every match has him just completely forget everything and take a massive beating for a whole round and sometimes more before actually starting to fight. It makes him come across as really stupid.

Those flaws aside, the show was fantastic. Although just like with the other great sports anime I've seen recently (haikyuu) it just makes me want to play that sport rather than improve myself in general. They really do make boxing look fun. I really like how authentically they animated a lot of it. A lot of boxing is not graceful and people passing out rarely looks badass. Normally they just crumple to the ground awkwardly. They weren't afraid to make the ugly moments look ugly and it lent a significant air of realism to the whole thing.

It also kept the awesome visual and audio exaggerations grounded. We know the dempsey roll isn't really making the jet engine noises because so much of what happens is so realistic, it's easy to instantly tell that is just an effect to demonstrate how fast and intense it is. They use those effects really well. Quite a few matches felt spectacular.

Just like with haikyuu I'm also impressed how in depth they went on the strategy of the sport. I feel like I have a very solid grasp of what boxing is like for the boxers (even if it might not be true, it makes you feel that way). Another thing I really like that separated these fights from so many others is the persistence of damage. A heavy blow in the first round could be the deciding factor in the 6th. In so many shonen fights it feels like the only attack that matters at all is the very last one and all the others were basically flashy time wasters but in this every strong blow that landed had real impact on the match and it made all of it so much more exciting. I have no idea why other shonen anime are so afraid to have fights play out like this.

I still have the 3 specials and then the last 2 seasons to watch. I'm looking forward to seeing even more.

Been watching hajime no ippo finally. I've almost watched it like 5 times in the past. It's quite good so far (only 10 eps in). It's really weird how ippo isn't always the huge underdog like in most sports stories. Sometimes he is, sometimes he's expected to win, and sometimes it looks even. I like that so far.

I also like how so far they are setting up storylines for the boxers where you almost feel like theres no way any of them can afford to lose but of course, somebody has to. It makes it a lot more tense.

Haven't played 5 but I thought that was considered the worst. The gameplay in 4 was completely fine IMO even if the story was all over the place and nonsensical. Then again at least there weren't 4D people and all that bullshit from 3. Assuming you mean nuptune from neptunia I actually don't mind her. Something about her performance as welch just made me want to strangle her.

Woah that completely flew under my radar. I loved that game on xbox but it was a fucking nightmare in post game because there were 3 discs and a lot of end game stuff was on different discs so you kept having to get up and switch. Obviously will not be a problem for PC. The story is kinda... it's not very good. The gameplay though is quite fun and theres lots of post game stuff to do. I ran through it on each difficulty originally and had a blast on the hardest one trying to figure out how the hell to win certain encounters, but there was always a way. For less than 20 bucks its a steal IMO.

EDIT: Also the synthesis lady's voice may be the most irritating sound in video games.

At the very most there will be enough for 3 seasons assuming it actually ends when they reach the bottom (and that the bottom is layer 7 or 8, I guess that could just be the charted abyss and there could 50 layers for all we know).

Yeah last season initially had magus bride and violet evergarden listed as airing that season when neither really did. The both had some advanced screenings or something and MAL is all confused about where to put em. Seems they moved magus bride to this season since it's airing now but who knows when violet evergarden will be placed.

Welp, it's finally ended.

I think all of us here has experienced that bittersweet feeling when you finally finish reading/watching an amazing series you've invested so much of your life and time into.

You know that feeling? That feeling that you know you'll never read something like it anywhere else again. That feeling that your journey in seeing your beloved characters grow, and seeing yourself growing with them over the years, is finally ending. That feeling that, although you feel sadness that its finally ending, you feel grateful and genuinely happy that you've gotten to experience and share just a small part of these characters amazing lives, and through them, made YOUR OWN life just a tiny bit better.

I don't think I can ever truly articulate how much Jitsu wa Watashi wa has affected my life over the years.

All I can say is, thank you, Eiji Masuda, for bringing such joy and genuine happiness into my life.

Stuff like this does kind of make me wish I had a series I'd stuck to for a long time. I suppose I have a similar feeling with game series but that's not really focused on a story element so you don't have the same growth of characters as you what you were talking about.

Not since kissanime set itself up. Pretty sure if I did pay for a streaming service I'd still probably watch it on kissanime anyway since it's format is better and having everything in one place is vastly more convenient. It's a real shame licensing issues and exclusive licenses are a thing.

DBZ was before the big 3 and fairy tail was not as popular and kind of missed the window. A large part of the big 3's popularity (at least in the west) was that they all came out when streaming anime and decent fansubs were becoming common so in part it was a right place right time kind of thing. It's unlikely we will ever see that level of popularity spike again.

Bleach is ok till like episode 17 (or whenever the first real arc starts), then AWESOME for the soul society arc and then trash forever after that. All IMO of course but it's a pretty common opinion. The show really should have ended after that arc cause they had done all they really could with things and animation wise had already reached the biggest explosions and faster then eyes can follow speed so where can you really go from there? All they really seemed to be able to do was palette swap attacks and say that it's stronger. Dragon ball Z had the same problem.

The title basic translates to slow lesbians. I didn't really expect much more than bait honestly and was pleasantly surprised. Kyouko x Yui for me. I enjoyed the chinatsu x akarin scene though, that was hilarious and awesomely yuri. I hope we eventually get more.

I remember reading somewhere that there's software that allows you put the critical files of a huge PC game on an SSD, and the bulk of the remaining size onto a different HDD because they're cinematic files.

I've only got one hard drive (and it's only a terabyte) and no SSD. Anyway I will say I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of the port so far. Running smoothly on my 5 year old PC. The connection to the online server keeps dropping randomly which is obnoxious but I haven't started doing co-op or anything so it hasn't effected me much.

Nioh finally out on PC. The download is 30 gb and unpacked its freaking 80 gb. Oh well, it's downloading now, only a few hours until I can rage at whatever technical issue inevitably arises because its a koei port and they suck ass at pc ports.

Figured it might be an anime 3x3 (which are supposed to be your favorite 9 anime or the ones that influenced you the most). It's got monogatari (even if its a picture of worst girl) and kara no kyoukai and jojo so it seems likely. I don't quite recognize the others just from this but some seem familiar.

First form can be torpored and is therefore a joke. Torpor in general is game breakingly OP. Even without torpor though he is pretty easy to climb on and attack the head, just have to watch his moves so you don't get hit. Phase 2 reminds me of bowser from mario. You gotta run behind him and grab the tail except unlike mario you have to use that to jump up higher on him to get to his head so you can do real damage. Most of the time though I was using a gold rare dragons ire and terrible blend on his dragon face. Took like 400 shots or so but he was completely stationary for the last 100 ish. Once he gets to half health he starts spamming bolide and seism so I really have no idea how you could reasonably melee attack him at that point. His rift vacuum move is dangerous if you aren't expecting it but a complete joke and free damage if you are.

I did go ahead and purify my 4 lvl3 weapons and after some saving and reloading managed to get the daggers, shortbow, and shield for myself and the archstaff for my pawn so I pretty much did it all. I guess I'm still missing oblivion chest and legs but I have shadow with the best enchantments already so I have very little motivation. Even though I do have the best oblivion head piece I can't bring myself to use it because its hideous. RIP.

I'm kind of surprised I've played this as much as I have since for the most part I haven't really enjoyed my time with it. I think it's mostly cause I'm trying to kill time until nioh comes out on the 7th.

I wish there were more harem comedy anime that were good and that I haven't seen.

Alright, I finally beat daimon awakened form in dark arisen. This was perhaps the only decent fight in the whole game and yet I won it for free when it got stuck on a piece of rubble and I just sat there shooting it for it's last 3 health bars. I kinda hate how in any remotely challenging fight your pawns are just a liability. 2 of em got vacuumed up into the rift on the attempt I won. A little silly to be still getting one shot in the mid 150s but o well.

After all that I finally can get the best weapons in the game...and have nothing at all to use them on because I just beat the only thing remotely hard in the entirely game. RIP. I still haven't actually killed death but he is so painfully boring that I just don't feel like it.
