Another FZ related thing today - as I was taking an uber home, I heard the driver sort of scoff and I swear he muttered "Dweezil Zappa..."

Turns out he was on the marquee for the House of Blues we were driving by... although he isn't coming until like April. So I guess in a couple months I'll have the chance to see him!

Forza Horizon series is what you definitely want. Yes, you are expected to apply the brakes for sharp turns, but I can't think of a good racing game from the past decade that doesn't.

I haven't played a racing game proper since like, Gran Turismo for the PS2. Which I didn't really like because it was too complicated and realistic. But I have noticed more and more lately that cars and racing are my favorite parts of open world sandbox games.

Are there any arcade racing games out there worth picking up?

Is the Forza series arcade at all, or is it more like GT?

There's very little chance the open world system will turn out good... but I want to give it a chance since it is mixing things up which is good considering how stale the series has become since the radical evolution in 7

Strong disagree. Mentor's job is to teach you to be the best qualified to earn Promotion X, but not to advocate for the mentee above others more qualified.

And that belief is exactly what leads to mentees getting pissed off at their mentors, which can have all sorts of fun outcomes.

Well career (or educational or whatever) advancement is the goal of a mentorship, so I wouldn't count that as unprofessional behavior at all. Ideally it's both parties' goal, I think.

I'm thinking less "this person can teach me stuff that is generally useful" and more "If this person is my mentor they will make sure I get my next promotion"

It could be either.

The senior party (male or female) probably is mainly motivated by sex or whatever, and the junior by career advancement.

Ideally, yes. But it's a familiar relationship between two people who don't have formal reporting lines (in other words - no real requirement they work together) where one is almost always pretty senior compared to the other.
