Smoking has zero health benefits unlike alcohol. The only things worth mentioning about alcohol in a negative light are alcoholism, underaged drinking, and drunk driving all of which often kill.

Not really. There's always a handful of "health benefits" to drinking alcohol, but they're always reconsidered or thrown-out after every new study on alcohol is released.

https://www.niaaa.nih.gov/alcohol-health/alcohols-effects-body

Drinking too much on a single occasion or over time can take a serious toll on your health. Heres how alcohol can affect your body:

Brain:
Alcohol interferes with the brains communication pathways, and can affect the way the brain looks and works. These disruptions can change mood and behavior, and make it harder to think clearly and move with coordination.

Heart:
Drinking a lot over a long time or too much on a single occasion can damage the heart, causing problems including:

-Cardiomyopathy Stretching and drooping of heart muscle
-Arrhythmias Irregular heart beat
-Stroke
-High blood pressure

Liver:
Heavy drinking takes a toll on the liver, and can lead to a variety of problems and liver inflammations including:

-Steatosis, or fatty liver
-Alcoholic hepatitis
-Fibrosis
-Cirrhosis

Pancreas:
Alcohol causes the pancreas to produce toxic substances that can eventually lead to pancreatitis, a dangerous inflammation and swelling of the blood vessels in the pancreas that prevents proper digestion.

Cancer:
Drinking too much alcohol can increase your risk of developing certain cancers, including cancers of the:

-Mouth
-Esophagus
-Throat
-Liver
-Breast

Immune System:
Drinking too much can weaken your immune system, making your body a much easier target for disease. Chronic drinkers are more liable to contract diseases like pneumonia and tuberculosis than people who do not drink too much. Drinking a lot on a single occasion slows your bodys ability to ward off infections even up to 24 hours after getting drunk.

There aren't any anti-alcohol commercials because, aside from AA, MADD, and a few other organizations, there's no real force to keep people from drinking. Not to mention that TV channels don't want to suggest to people that drinking is bad, since it'd suggest that they're recommending a modern-day prohibition.

At least with smoking, most people have come to recognize or acknowledge that smoking ruins your teeth, lungs, personal hygiene, and the cleanliness of belongings.

With drinking, it pretty much just affects your liver, weight, and senses.

2015. And if you weren't paying attention -- despite claiming to the contrary with your assertions -- why would you make a statement at all? Doubly so since you were just riding your high horse while complaining that you have to know every bit of ICO's backstory before you can make any assessment.
I never once claimed that I "know every bit of ICOYAR's backstory". I just said he's a piece of shit.

Zeus posted...
If you were accused of something that was outright false and then saw that same person accuse somebody else, what conclusion would you draw? Not a rhetorical question. How does your thought process work in that scenario?
My thought process works in the sense that I don't disregard a person's opinions just because I don't agree and/or know one or more of their opinions aren't true.

Now, I do see that this paints me a hypocrite as I've done the same for Duckbear, ICOYAR, Trump, etc. I've disregarded their opinions and ignore them because I don't give a shit what they have to say.

Zeus posted...
And my respect for you just dwindled a bit. Mead's only real expertise is trolling (although he's a master at his little manipulative games) and Foxx is as bad as Erik when it comes to a persistent, irrational need to believe anything negative about Trump and spin any news the same.

Don't get me wrong, regardless of your feelings for me, I like you. I often disagree with you, but I like you. And I have a reasonable level of respect for you. And, generally speaking, I never had a problem with Foxx until she decided to out-Erik Erik -- after all, in that vacuum somebody had to shitpost nonstop about Trump. I'm not completely sure why she does that -- although it seems to be suspiciously motivated -- but, regardless of those motivations, I've never thought too badly of her. Mead, on the other hand, I have absolutely no respect for. Whatever disdain or contempt you seem to feel for ICO, I feel the same way about Mead. I had more respect for Erik than Mead and I had virtually no respect for Erik.
You can keep your "respect" for me. I don't want it. I don't give a shit what you think of me.

And you're wrong. That vacuum was filled by Duckbear - not Foxx. Unlike you, she doesn't talk shit about other people behind their back.

"If there is a shutdown I think it would be a tremendously negative mark on the President of the United States, he's the one that has to get people together." - Trump 4/7/2011

Trump spoke to Fox & Friends in 2013 and was asked who would be fired during a government shutdown, as shown in a clip posted by "Morning Joe."

Well, if you say who gets fired it always has to be the top, Trump said. I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top and the presidents the leader. And hes got to get everybody in a room and hes got to lead.
He said that further down in history, when they talk about the government shutdown, theyre going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time.

Theyre not going to be talking about who was the head of the House, the head the Senate, whos running things in Washington, Trump said.

So I really think the pressure is on the president, he added.

lolwut? Again, don't be a Misinformation Mead. If you actually bothered to look back at the primary debate posts, you'd know that I supported Jim Webb among Democrats and wasn't overly fond of anybody on the Republican ticket although, out of them, Rand Paul was probably the closest (because, while I'm center-left, I have a strong libertarian streak). iirc, Kasich I only remarked as being reasonable. I did suggest giving Trump a chance and criticized the silly outrage over his early remarks. I frequently noted that I had no expectation of him winning, although I thought (quite rightly) that a Trump presidency would be interesting.
Dude, get it through your skull. I wasn't paying attention to you or even cared what you had to say in 2016. I just remember seeing some dude named "Zeus" hanging around PotD. And cut the shit with this "Misinformation Mead" crap. You're not funny or witty for these stupid colloquialisms you've slapped on people like medals at a country fair.

Honestly, I was inclined to take those accusations at face value *until* some random new poster who I'm not sure I even talked to once on the boards started making accusations about me PMing them and harassing them on Facebook. This same poster went on to make accusations against ICO. While I can't say that I know what ICO has or hasn't done -- I've heard about some of the incidents -- I certainly know what I haven't done and if somebody is inventing accusations against me and then they turn around and accuse ICO, why would I believe those accusations are legitimate?
So, just because someone accuses you of something, you're inclined to not believe anything they have to say? Like Trump does with the "Mainstream Media" and "Fake News" and all of his other bullshit that he keeps squawking on about like a parrot.
