Kinda unfair to put Switch up against the PS4 at this stage but it is already better than the Bone's exclusive library IMO.

Normally I purchase consoles upon release or a few weeks from release but XBone had such a boner of library that it took me several years to get one.

AAI2 hype is through the roof.

Also, I'm liking AAI1's case 3 so far. It is definitely keeping me more interested than the first 2 which were probably 2-1 and 2-3 levels of bad.

And case 3 looks interesting so far.

Why does the board hate AA4 again? It is about equal on footing with JFA (which had two of the worst cases in the entire series in 2-1 and 2-3). AAI1 right now is below either of them though.

3 > 6 > 1 > 5 > 2 >= 4

AA2 gets by because I have a soft spot for 2-2 and 2-4 is a good case (not nearly as hot on it as the rest of the board though). AA4 has a fantastic opening case, two average cases in the middle and an above average final case.
Which makes JFA and AJ the two worst games in the mainline series by quite a margin.

I have core issues with aai1 but you have to think of case 2 as like 1-2 in the original game. that game doesn't really get going until case 3.

This makes me feel better about continuing the game.

In hindsight, I should have just played this back in the days when I played AA1-3. It is kinda hard coming to this after playing SoJ earlier this year.

Not really feeling it yet

I'm in the middle of case 2 and so far it has been very uneventful and kinda a slog to get through. I remember Justice for All and Apollo Justice, the two weakest games in the series, with much fonder memories than this at their respective stages in the game.

Don't get me wrong. I like the concept and Miles Edgeworth is my favorite character in the series but the two cases so far have been predictable and the stakes feel less than even 3-2's first half. Therefore I feel like I'm playing the game for the sake of completing it rather than having fun like I did with the mainline AA games.

God forbid the cases get worse than the first two though so I'm hoping it gets much better and eventually appreciate the game.

I really do hope I can beat this game by December 1st. Because 1) I'm really looking forward to playing AAI2 and 2) Xenoblade Chronicles 2's release will most definitely kill my AAI1 playthrough and I don't think I will have enough motivation to continue on with it after coming from a long break.

01. Metro Kingdom - Has become one of my favorite areas in gaming
02. Bowser's Kingdom - I am a sucker for Kingdoms in the sky. But when you add Japanese architecture to it then it becomes even more special. Also I love Pokios.
03. Sand Kingdom - The first true open experience in the game and I loved it.
04. Wooded Kingdom - This has no place ranking as high as it should since I normally hate areas like this but it quickly grew on me and I loved it.
05. Luncheon Kingdom
06. Seaside Kingdom - Love Gushens, normally hate water levels in games but this was really well done.
07. Cascade Kingdom - Bob-omb battlefield on steroids
08. Snow Kingdom
09. Lake Kingdom
10. Mushroom Kingdom - Overrated but it serves well as a bonus area
11. Moon Kingdom - Love the gravity and all but I despise dark areas like these
12. Lost Kingdom
13. Cap Kingdom - Too small in size and not a fan of the atmosphere.
14. Ruined Kingdom - Good boss area but not much more than that
15. Cloud Kingdom - My expectations soared when I heard Cloud Kingdom but nope just a boss area. You can imagine my disappointment.

If I had to rank the Final Secret levels it would be

Galaxy 2 >>> 3D Land > 3D World > Odyssey > Galaxy (lol)

I struggled with 3D Land's more than World's. Not to mention getting to 3D Land's Secret level was ****ing tedious just like Galaxy 1.

By the way this is not a knock on TC and me saying I rule at games because I don't. I have my fair share of video game genres that I absolutely suck at (hello there FPSes and Racing games).

It is just strange to hear someone say P5 is hard in any way shape or form after I thought to myself while playing the game, "I absolutley love this game but damn did they tone down the difficulty even more than P4Golden like that was even possible"

Nah man. Palace 3 may seem scarce in Save Points but it is actually not since the whole area is very closely tied together and backtracking is made easy with shortcuts.

I guess I can see someone struggling with Palace 5 since that is the point of game where you are required to cover a wide variety of Personas to not struggle against enemies with certain strengths and weaknesses. Even then if you have played P3 or any other SMT game these kinds of things are necessary from the start.

I love P5 like crazy and it is one of my favorite games of all time but it is probably the easiest game I've played, made by Atlus. I can certainly see that it caters to casuals.

Been getting an Ace Attorny itch lately and seeing as the only games I haven't played in the series are the two AAI games and Prof Layton vs. PW, I thought why not.

Now, I know AAI2 has a lot of fans and I'd love to play that game but I need to get through AAI1 first and I remember being pretty bored by it back then. I admittedly didn't get far though.

How long is the game and are any of the cases in the game as intriguing as any of the mainline ones?

Are you talking about the Final Level (as in thr story's final level) or the Secret Level which you unlock after doing everything (or almost everything) in the game?

You literally have to beat Grandmaster Galaxy without getting hit even once in Perfect Run. None of the other Secret Levels had a challenge like that unless it is self imposed. That factor alone makes Galaxy 2's Secret level infinitely harder than the rest.

Super Mario Odyssey 100% completed

All Power Moons and Purple Coins obtained in all Kingdoms.

999 Power Moons obtained. Bowser Hard Mode beated! Mushroom Kingdom secret celebration scene viewed.

I must say the Secret Final Level was pretty easy because it only took me about 6 tries. I guess it continues 3D Land and 3D World's tradition of not making the Secret Final Level too challenging. Grandmaster Galaxy's Perfect Run from SMG2 still stands as the undisputed ultimate challenge in 3D Mario.

With that said, Odyssey has broken into my Top 10 games of all time and is also my third favorite game of 2017 (IMO the best year in gaming) behind only BotW and P5 by a small margin. That is an incredible feat in itself but it has also usurped Galaxy 2 from its throne as the king of 3D platformers.

What an incredible game it was and I hope the rest of you enjoy it as much as I did.

Well. It allows you to buy all the Kingdom exclusive items from the purple shop. Most of the outfits you buy from the shop are required for certain Power Moons.

I guess getting 100% purple coins isnt necessary unless you want to collect everything though. Since 50-60% of the coins are usually enough to get all the outfits in each respective world.

Only Kingdoms left to 100% are Bowser, Moon, Mushroom, Dark and Darker side.

I caved in and had to watch some youtube videos to find out where I missed a couple of Purple coins though. I had 2 missing in Metro and 3 in Seaside. Both were a pain trying to figure out on my own and I didn't wanna scale through every nook and cranny which I tried to do as much as I could the first time around.

Metro Kingdom, my favorite world in the game had the most obnoxious Power Moon in RC Pro Champ. I don't think I've struggled with nearly any of the Power Moons I've gotten so far as much as this.

Volleyball was the ****ing worst mini-game I've encountered so far. I didn't know the 2P trick at the time so I did it by Mario himself. I remember failing multiple times in 80s and once in 96 before getting the Moon. It was the worst.

At least Jump rope was like a lite version of FF9's so getting 100 was pretty easy.

Still a long way to go for 100% but I'm loving it and hope it doesn't end anytime soon.

I think it is safe to say this is the best Super Mario game I've played and a Top 10 game (which is insane and honestly something I did not expect).

I thought the two Galaxies were 3D platforming perfection and they still are but Odyssey is both a 3D platforming perfection and a masterpiece of a collect-o-thon. It combines the best of both worlds and most of all it is insanely entertaining and a real joy whenever I turn on my Switch and hold the joycons in my hand.

The rate at which Nintendo is churning out amazing GOAT tier games is astounding. As of now I have very postive expectations from Xenoblade 2 something which I probably should be skeptical about after X.

I have only played about 4 hours so far (I hate how much work I have right now) and it looks like 100% is gonna take me a while (I'm gonna soak all in though) since there is what 800+ Power Moons. I'm at like 30 something right now.

I played Odyssey for the first time last night for about 2 hours and holy **** I did not expect it to be this good. Like I expected it to be an amazing game and all but did not expect it to be on par with BotW and P5's level of GOATness.

I cannot believe the kind of year we are having for gaming. I will be stoked if 2018 is even half as good as 2017.

I may be one of the few or the only one on the board who prefers Mario over Luigi.

That said, he is a solid iconic Nintendo character.

Really liked her character in Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild and Wind Waker. Her role in Spirit Tracks is also one of her finest and most underrated. She's alright in OoT in both her roles but is greatly outshined by Midna in TP.

In short her character suffers from inconsistencies in the series but for the most part, she is a great character.
