I actually like Chrono Trigger (at least a lot more than its terrible sequel if you can call it that) a lot. It is certainly ahead of its time. It still has one the best OSTs in video game history. A great set of characters with iconic design and a simple yet wonderful time travel story (that its sequel made unnecessarily convoluted and nonsensical).

It is a great game and a classic no doubt but Persona 4 is on a whole another level. It really has no business beating one of the legit best JRPGs of all time.

That said, for the longest time I thought B8 was one of the fairest judges of CT. Realizing it is too simple a game to hold a candle against the very best.

Then we have BGE 2015 and CT performs like an absolute beast and all of a sudden the game is like the greatest thing ever since sliced bread on the board.

I seriously don't get this bandwagon. Kinda seems outta nowhere. Just where were these fans before the 2015 contest? I certainly didn't see nearly as much before.

Yup. This is what I wanted. More hyped now than before. There's not much they can do with a direct sequel unless we continue playing as Marston Jr. and that would be ****ing bland.

I love the portability. I got to play Zelda: BotW during a very travel heavy work schedule. But I don't consider it a make or break thing. I still widely prefer playing it on TV.

Favorite game is obviously BotW. Splatoon 2 is the only other game worth owning (not counting ports).

I have high hopes for the system. Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are scheduled to release this year which would mean one of strongest launch years for any system. With more games coming up like Metroid Prime 4, possibly a New Smash, Dragon Quest XI, a New Tales of game and many others, this might very well be one of Nintendo's best systems library-wise.

Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild added some depth to Link's character but he is and always has been a silent protagonist which takes away points for character ratings as far as I'm concerned.

I didn't like the character design when I first played OoT back in the day but it has certainly grown on me after all these years and has admittedly become iconic.

I still very much hate the fact that the character is insanely popular on this site and that it wins anything contest related. On that note, despite my immense love for Breath of the Wild, I'll always be sour against Link for making contests not as fun as they could potentially be.

It's significantly harder. You can just kind of fumble your way through Legends and meet the score goals, and while Legends still has hard time trials, they aren't the same as getting through full levels with a strict time limit.

What? Origins was not hard at all (I beat all the levels including the treasure chest levels and the secret one), not that Legends is hard so far as well

As far as I remember the difficulty level is about the same. The no-lives, infinite checkpoint respawn makes both games very fair in their difficulty. Both games would be hard without the checkpoint system but since the system is in place, neither qualifies as hard.

I didn't realize people liked origins more but I definitely preferred legends also

I think I saw a best Rayman game poll here or somewhere else and Origins was literally destroying everything else (Legends included).

I played Origins. I liked it but didn't love it. So I thought if Legends is a little bit worse or about the same, then no need to bother.

How wrong I was.

Just finished the 'Eye of the Tiger' level in Legends and I'm dying here. Lol.

Game is better designed and more fun than Origins. Not to say Origins is bad or anything. It was a good game but it didn't wow me which turned me off from playing Legends till now.

Legends is wowing me though. So what exactly is it about Origins that people think is better other than originality?

Also Origins' levels are literally in Legends so that automatically makes it better.

No amount of quality matches during the US Championship open challenge matches, no amount of quality matches against the likes of CM Punk, AJ Styles and Kevin Owens is gonna erase the fact that he single-handedly killed WWE for me for a long period of time.

2006-Summer of Punk 2011 was basically unwatchable television for me.

He is much easier to stomach now but I'll be happy when he finally hangs up his boots.

Assassin's Creed II is better than any Zelda game I've ever played, so that's pretty high praise...!

But every game after ACII is a bastardized carbon copy of it so the series is more stale than a block of stinky cheese left in a broken refrigerator.

And ACII has aged worse than you might think it have. It was a Top 100 game for me back when I first played it. Now it will be lucky to crack Top 300.

Speaking of restaurant food. I just had a fly in my wonton soup in a Chinese restaurant a few days ago.

Flies disgust me like anything so I don't know whether it was psychological but I felt sick and nauseated the entire day. And I don't get sick easily.

Got compensated by the restaurant with another meal (which I declined) after I complained but the damage by then was already done and I completely lost my appetite by then.

So raw food is at least > fly in food

Looking up recipes and cooking the right food can completely take away the challenge in the game.

I suggest you soak in everything the game has to offer and take things in naturally and not worry too much about creating game-breaking food or obtaining powerful weapons early on. Things will fall in place because the game is designed as such and my god this game is a masterpiece when it comes to level/area design. Every mechanic makes sense including the weapon and shield durability system. Even the only flawed mechanic in the game i.e rain (****ing annoying in the middle of a good climb) actually makes sense.

BotW truly redefines the term open-world in video games. See that mountain? You can get over there is the most ****ing incredible statement ever made that actually lives up to it. You can literally see a speck of Death Mountain right when you exit the Shrine of Resurrection and as soon as you get the paraglider, you can get to said mountain after what feels like days of travelling. Amazing out of this world design.

The two crowning jewels of a stellar gaming year (IMO the very best) are definitely BotW and P5. I was leaning more towards the phenomenal entertainment sensation i.e P5 at the beginning but BotW still blows my mind when I think about it, 2-3 months after I've beaten it. So it is close. Very close.

If you want my opinion on what game/s to purchase next. Here are the games I'd rank released this year which I've beaten excluding BotW and P5 which indisputably sits on the throne

Nioh > NieR: Automata >= Horizon: Zero Dawn > Resident Evil 7: biohazard > Injustice 2 > Splatoon 2 > Uncharted: The Lost Legacy > Life is Strange: Before the Storm Ep. 1 > Tekken 7 > What Remains of Edith Finch

Anything till RE7 is GotY contender in any year other than 2017 (and I don't say this lightly). Injustice 2 is also the best Fighting game I've played since Street Fighter IV (and I don't say this lightly either). And I'd also like to add that I'm about 40 hours in Tales of Berseria and it is by far the best Tales game I've played since Vesperia.

We are absolutely privileged to be gamers with years like these. Enjoy you next few amazing games.

Edit: Forgot to add Splatoon 2.
