It actually really sucks it came to this. The ESRB failed to address this issue properly, and now government has to regulate video games. Isn't that why we have the ESRB, so gamer designers can police themselves?

The ESRB was founded and is funded by gaming publishers so they can more freely make money without regulation, but they couldn't keep it in their pants with loot boxes since they were making so much easy money with them (lots of people love gambling and casinos make a lot of money because of that reason, surprise), which is why the ESRB had defended loot boxes and refused to call them gambling, so now the only way for loot boxes to be regulated is government intervention.

I'm not a fan of government regulation but at this point it's clear the AAA gaming industry thinks loot boxes are their new gold mine and they're not going to give it up. They're going to keep trying to assault people with loot boxes and micro transactions until people get tired of complaining about it and it becomes the norm.

You know what I don't understand, removing net neutrality literally only benefits the ISPs, and nobody else, including all other corporations, who are adamantly against removing net neutrality for obvious reasons, because if net neutrality was lifted, the ISPs would charge them through the roof, that being said, why are they pushing the removal of net neutrality so hard when it's in the interests of a few corporations, Verizon and other ISPs, against every other corporation that would take a loss from it? What exactly has Verizon promised these people for favoring them so much?

It needs to be a thing. Adolescents are very vulnerable to addictive behaviors and the micro transaction business models are often designed in a way to give players a sense of success based on luck that affects the mind in the same way as gambling.

Players and parents should make up their own minds about what is or isn't appropriate, but personally I feel like a disclaimer that a game uses this kind of in game economy is just as important as a warning about violence or sexual content.

FYI the ESRB was founded and is funded by major video game publishers like EA. That's why the ESRB has already said they won't label pay loot boxes as gambling and won't in the future.

The big argument i have been hearing, with TCG you are getting something physical, so it inherently has value, while something that is digital has no real world value.

Also, the market sets the price of each card in the pack, not the manufacture.

When you buy loot boxes, you are essentially gambling on things have have no value outside of the game, if at all, and if they have any in game value, that value is set by the publisher.

It's still cheaper to have high quality photos developed at a store most of the time, it's just you can do it yourself if you want to have something more private printed.

Generally, telling your audience that everything they experienced in your story and possibly got emotionally involved in (if the story was good) doesn't matter because none of it actually happened or mattered is one of the worst and most upsetting ways you can end your story.

When turkey is made correctly, it's really good, but making turkey correctly is difficult, time consuming, and expensive, since turkey is naturally dry, and you need to brine it for a day or 2 to make it moist and flavorful, and it would be even better if you deep fried it instead of oven baking it, but that's even more difficult and expensive.

So most of the time, it's the stuffing.

Which by the way, you really shouldn't be cooking inside of the turkey, as the turkey will be overcooked by the time the stuffing is safe to eat.

Why anyone would prefer Pumpkin Pie over Sweet Potato Pie is beyond me. I don't understand why anyone would choose to eat pumpkins over sweet potatoes in general.

For the people who didn't watch the video, video game companies focusing on lots of micro transactions for their already full price games has absolutely nothing to do with "need", it's simply because they make a lot more money that way over not putting in lots of micro transactions, they would usually profit regardless.
