TopicWhy Liberals are so in favor of socialism
ElatedVenusaur

Liberals are actually more or less okay with the status quo. They'd prefer more free trade, a few more regulations on certain things, and more open immigration. Maybe a tweak here and there to our social safety net.
Socialists like myself; however, think our current level of wealth inequality is not only grossly unfair, but fundamentally unsustainable. Serious changes in policy are required to liberate the majority of Americans from economic anxieties, many of which are unique to our country(i.e. bankruptcy resulting from medical debt, student loan debt, etc.) The wealthy will remain wealthy, but it is their duty to pay a much fairer share.

What is shocking here, more so than the DNC being in cahoots with the Clinton campaign, is the extent to which it wasn't even an independent entity. It was literally nothing more than an extension of her campaign, and its resources were disposed of in a way that benefited Hillary Clinton at the cost of the Democratic Party as a whole(and, with fitting irony, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign).
These people are not only corrupt, but utterly incompetent. This article serves only to confirm that they have no place in the future of our politics. They should all be fired into the sun. Donna Brazile included.

IIRC, the scope of Mueller's authority is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 elections, but he also has authority to investigate and prosecute whatever other crimes he turns up, so it's not impossible.

But would that mean opening up a separate investigation or are you saying that it's a broad enough investigation to pretty much grab anything from parking tickets to high treason?

Forgive me if I'm being dense.

It's broad enough that he can prosecute anything that he comes across in his investigation, if he so chooses. I doubt you'll see him go after parking tickets, but more along the line of white collar crimes.

This is correct. Mueller's authority is quite broad.

In any case, Politico has an interesting nugget: https://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/31/sam-clovis-senate-russia-investigation-244370
Sam Clovis is apparently cooperating with the Mueller investigation and testified before the grand jury. He was part of Trump's campaign and assembled Trump's foreign policy team(which included Papdopolous) and is also Trump's nominee to an important post in the Department of Agriculture.

Oh, I can assure you that conspiracy theories can be found on the left too. The difference is that the bad actors are usually corporations and/or the U.S. military or intelligence(especially the CIA. To be fair, the CIA got up to all kinds of shady stuff during the Cold War).
One particularly pernicious tendency on the left is that some are supportive of anyone who opposes the US's aims abroad, regardless of merit, which leads to some lefties defending the likes of Vladimir Putin and Bashar al-Assad.

Who knows. It could be anybody. Podesta, Kushner, Flynn, Sessions, Trump, Clinton, or some person no one has every heard of. What more Mueller has or hasn't found is anyone's guess at this point.

Can someone explain how she was involved in the investigation into the Trump campaign? I get that if the uranium deal was real (I haven't seen enough either way), that she could be charged, but wouldn't that be a completely separate investigation?

IIRC, the scope of Mueller's authority is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 elections, but he also has authority to investigate and prosecute whatever other crimes he turns up, so it's not impossible.

Of course, no actual uranium was sold to the Russians.

IIRC, Papdopulous was charged and plead guilty in July. Mueller managed to keep that under wraps for the past 3 months. He's apparently been cooperative too: a bad sign for other potential conspirators.
Carter Page and Mike Flynn are the low-hanging fruit now, and the former is breath-takingly stupid(he was literally on All In With Chris Hayes tonight talking about an active federal investigation in which he is involved).
It's all speculation, in any case. Mueller's a career prosecutor with an excellent rep. This will unfold as he wants it to.

GSC is pretty slow in the beginning and has a poor post-game, but it gets a pass on the latter because it was the first to attempt a post-game(and battling Red was legit cool).

RSE has a ton of water, which is bad, because it's very samey. Not just from a visual standpoint, but from an encounter and trainer standpoint(Tentacools and water types. Forever).

D/P suffered from being quite slow, but I'm biased in its favor because I love Sinnoh. Platinum (mostly) fixed that though.

Oh, and I really didn't like Kalos and found the X/Y post-game really underwhelming, so that gets my vote.

My fave was the Battle Factory, where you used pre-set pokemon to fight. You'd be given a description of your next opponent's team(which got increasingly vague as you progressed) and could swap out any one of your pokemon for a defeated opponent's.

If the U.S. does nothing, then no one will. It's that simple. China and Russia do similar stuff(though it's generally much more gradual and quiet than sending soldiers to slaughter defenseless villagers). Ideally, you'd undertake a peace-keeping mission. Myanmar's army is crappy and rife with corruption, so they're basically counting on the idea that nobody cares to get away this(they're right, unfortunately).

The very least we could do is pay-off Bangladesh to settle the refugees and grant them citizenship, but not even that will happen. Trump can hardly be bothered to care about Puerto Ricans(U.S. citizens!), so the odds of him caring about the Rohingya are basically zero.

Trump's solutions, of course, are odious and will/are making things worse, but Hillary Clinton never seemed to recognize how messed up the status quo is, in large part because she was one of the people who helped craft it.
