Zeeky_Bomb 12/31/17 8:48:09 PM #325 | Do we honestly think that the Ravens are better or more exciting? I can't name anybody on their offense, save for Flacco. And yeah, the Chargers are fine, but who cares about a team that has left their city because their owner is a cheap dickhole? Also I'm aware the Titans kind of suck, and got to play the AFC South and North. So did the Ravens. --- |

Zeeky_Bomb 12/20/17 12:13:44 AM #131 | I saw the Star Wars. I really liked it, but it was also really flawed. SPOILERS TIME However, I still really enjoyed it. I found the psychological battle between Rey and Kylo Ren to be very compelling (even if it was shallow). Kylo Ren also works very well as a villain, in the sense that he's very manipulative and humanly chaotic. The fight scenes were very well choreographed--seriously, the moment where they cut into Rey and Kylo fighting back to back was absolutely bad ass. While Luke's sacrifice was built from the same mold as Obi Wan's, the execution was, for me, pinpoint. Finally, it was aesthetically beautiful once again. And I kind of like porgs. Spoiler-free conclusion: it's not very deep, it does drop off a bit, but it also does what it does best exceptionally, and admittedly nostalgia helps make me hyped for it too. If The Last Jedi were an athlete, it would be Billy Hamilton. --- |

Zeeky_Bomb 12/19/17 1:20:15 PM #124 | It should end on Homer causing a nuclear accident in the power plant, akin to Chernobyl, and everyone dying in the first five minutes. Then they just play the Steamed Hams skit three times. --- |

Zeeky_Bomb 12/18/17 6:24:13 PM #115 | It's exaggerated in movies/shows. It is definitely more popular in some areas than others (I'd imagine that some medium towns in Alberta/Saskatchewan it would be close to 25%, while the GTA take rate would be closer to 5%), but it's also expensive to play hockey and it's not the most welcoming sport to adult beginners. --- |

Zeeky_Bomb 12/11/17 8:27:21 PM #479 | Ultima_Dragoon posted... The lack of star players in the NFL is staggeringly low right now. I think anyone could win. But it will be the Patriots because life sucks. I wonder if it's truly worse than it has been in past years. I feel like we are so deep in fantasy sports, especially with the uprising of daily fantasy, that we become hyper aware of how mediocre the average player is. Anyways, I honestly think this bodes well for Jacksonville. Their defense is full of beasts, and they have Leonard Fournette. They don't need Bortles to be great, they just need the opposing defense to be impatient. Rockies posted... I'd say three or four years, and that's if they progress pretty well through the minors. There have been guys who did it sooner but afaik it's pretty rare. So I wouldn't expect to see your Twins guy at all next season Yeah, it's super rare to see a prospect playing at 20, and even then, they rarely get more than a cup of coffee. It sucks for young guys, but the league is set up in a way to screw anybody under the age of 26. --- |

Zeeky_Bomb 12/10/17 7:50:57 PM #442 | CaptainHammer posted... Alan Trammell and Jack Morris got voted in the HOF by the veterans' committee. I know Morris somehow became the anti saber metrics community poster boy and that's why he got in, but can someone explain why they liked him better than Tommy John who didn't get voted in? Just looking at their stats it's no contest between Morris and John whether you use traditional or advanced metrics and his name is waaaay more famous The baseball hall of fame is way too weird, and both should likely be in. And yeah, Morris is a hall-of-good guy rather than a hall of famer, but... meh? I'm tired of the Jack Morris argument at this point. --- |
