In the 1950s electrical outlets did not have grounding and were just starting to be polarized. They were also 125v compared to todays 120v. And that's assuming that electrical standards don't change again before the time period you took the devices from such that you can plug them in. I probably played Brotherhood wrong because I found it has too many time wasters, I've spent 1/4 of the game standing around waiting for timers to expire because I wanted to finish what was available before progressing with the plot. I guess I should have let them go until late game. With 1 I got better synchronization, and thus more health, by doing the optional stuff. I eventually realized this gave me a false impression for the later games where character strength is more closely tied to plot progression. --- No locked doors, no windows barred. The other person could just look to see if it needs to be turned off. They would then realize you're hiding something from them.
