Our cat Star also likes to sleep on me, and sometimes wake me up by stepping on my face...

We've had bad luck with our kitties lately; we had to have our 18 year old, Smudge, put to sleep on the 29th June after her health rapidly deteriorated in the past month. She probably could have lived for a few more weeks, but she didn't look comfortable any more, so it was hopefully for the best... As for Star, she was diagnosed with mouth cancer at the end of May, and has been gradually getting worse; she drools everyday now, and can only manage to eat the "pate-like" wet cat food any more, so I wouldn't be surprised if we had to have her put to sleep by the end of July, too.

What a bad summer this has been so far. ;___;

I really like the Grump cats, Mimi and Mochi, adorable munchkins.

I kinda want one, but I feel cats would want to thrash me at any opportunity.

Action53 does have a good suggestion. Go to a shelter and pet some kitties and see how that goes. Cats are great pets for a lot of people, and if you were super worried about injury you could look for a ragdoll. They're bred to be docile little kitties.

I agree ^.^ And shelter kitties might be happy to see visitors.
