| DavidZ2844 02/20/18 6:35:24 AM #18 | Also, this movie and Winter Soldier (maybe Civil War too I guess, but to a less extent) are the only movies in which Scar Jo isn't insufferable as Black Widow. My god is she terrible in that role in all the other films, a super cheesy and ham-fisted, terrible performance that is so cringe inducing. It's especially bad in the Avengers films, especially AoU, her quips in those movies truly make her a terrible joke of a character and most of the times I'm rolling my eyes when she's on screen in those movies. She's basically a completely different character in IM2 than in any of the other MCU films (considering she's undercover in most of it, it makes sense) which works pretty well, nothing too amazing but she doesn't bring down the quality of the film at all like she does in all the other non Winter Soldier/Civil War movies. However, Winter Soldier is a whole other story, she's amazing in that and such a clear standout character in that movie. I wish her character was so well written and well portrayed in all the other MCU films like she was in Winter Soldier. Hoping for this level of writing and portrayal in Infinity War. |

I feel the same way about personally liking Guardians as my favorite MCU film, but I think Winter Soldier is the MCU's best film. |

| DavidZ2844 02/20/18 3:42:31 AM #3 | Great, underrated movie, doesn't deserve the hate it gets. Feel the same way about Iron Man 3 too. Most of the problems I hear from people are small nitpicks, or they just don't bother saying anything at all and simply say it's bad. They aren't super amazing mind blowing films, but they are very entertaining and I always enjoy rewatching them whenever I do my traditional rewatch of the whole MCU in preparation for an Avengers film. |

Still, I got my hopes up because last month we got some similar high quality popular games like Telltale Batman and Deus Ex. Really thought they would deliver similarly with those rumored games. |

I came in this topic to see more opinions about the movie because I've seen very mixed reactions to the movie when it came out and wanted to see what CE thought of it. I expected spoilers to be tagged appropriately since the topic title didn't announce there would be any (in which case I wouldn't have entered the topic), which is what the normal rules are regarding spoilers in general, at least that's what I thought they were. But instead, the wrong things were spoiler tagged and actual movie spoilers weren't lmao |

The mystery surrounding it and how it would tie into the previous films made it more tense and intriguing, and the marketing was genius which only added to the intrigue. Wasn't perfect, it had its flaws but I thought it was a very solid sci-fi thriller. I was very surprised to see it getting panned after I looked up reactions to it after I saw it, it actually made me glad I went into the movie blind without reading or seeing anything about it other than the super bowl trailer. |

| DavidZ2844 12/06/17 3:39:44 AM #27 | I used to be a fan of machete order, and I still think it's a decent way of experiencing the Star Wars saga as a first time viewer, but now I personally think release order is definitely the best way to go. Episode 6 still gets some of its twists spoiled by viewing the PT first. Plus it just feels a lot more cohesive as a whole when you watch the respective trilogies together. Machete order still has its merits though, like ending the saga on a high note with RotJ. In NO way does watching it chronologically (1-6) should be done on a first time viewing. It's fine on future rewatches, but it's a HUGE disservice to have a newbie watch the PT first before the OT. ANH introduces the universe so much better than TPM, and for obviously having the plot twists in ESB and RotJ being completely spoiled. |

Also there are some sites that somehow just display ads anyway regardless whether I have both extensions on or one or the other. Any recommendations for an ad block that fully works? Particularly looking to get around the ads on twitch, unless that's a new thing for twitch in which ads are no longer able to be blocked. |
