The amount of twists this game has is crazy too **SPOILERS BELOW**

So the game starts off as a pretty vanilla blah blah chosen one, release all four seals, save the world, roll credits.

Then you eventually do that, only wait, the whole thing is a sham, and by doing this, you're destroying an entire other world

Okay so let's form pacts with all summon spirits to break the mana links and stop the worlds from vying for each other's mana. so let's do that, save both worlds, and roll credits

So finally you do that and oh shit the seed is growing out of control and is going to destroy both worlds anyways! so now we gotta go back to lloyd's hometown for what will surely be a climactic showdown with the desian base overlooking the place where it all began

GUESS WHAT. THAT'S JUST DISC 1, BABY

yeah, to this day the game's plot is still kinda baffling to me. there's always some twist after every major event is completed leading up to an entire planet made of mana that was invisible the whole time, and it's where the elves originally came from like wtf

Also, it's really hard to get Zelos as your soul mate if you haven't been planning for it. You need to keep affection split up and low throughout Sylverant, especially if you want his earliest scenes (he's got decent late game affection boosts).

I never did get Zelos as my soulmate so I never got the Chosen's Orb to finish off my item collection >_>
