ff5 didn't release in america until the gameboy advance port.

That's what I'm saying. Despite it not coming out during their childhood, they should still give it a go. My first sentence there is me complaining about Square doing a worse job with the sequel than the previous game.

It had a PS1 port first. Granted the localization was questionable. If I recall that is the one where "wyvern" got mistakenly changed to "Y-Burn."

I've been playing Morrowind lately.
So many tones of sepia!

In a slightly unrelated thought, I still can't wrap my brain around the fact that Minecraft looks so purposefully pixel -y and generally terrible, especially in this day and age, when we have games from 6 years ago that look like Skyrim.

Minecraft hurts my eyes.

Well obviously Skyrim looks like Skyrim.

My point is that we possess the technology that no game ever has to look like Minecraft.
It's not the 1980s.
There's no reason for this.

Minecraft was not particularly easy to run on many machines when it came out. It may LOOK simple but dealing with many thousands of blocks is something that would not have worked only a couple years before the game came out.

Also not everything has to strive for realism. I personally don't understand a retro-8 bit art style since so much color is sacrificed so I can sort of relate but I never had a problem with how Minecraft looks.

Plus the blocky building/world generation would stand out more. Minecraft with modern graphics would be extremely taxing.

EverQuest Next was aiming to be sort of a Guild Wars 2/Minecraft hybrid but was cancelled with the developers saying what they made wasn't fun when executed.

I think the word trolling has lost it's meaning

Someones making a joke? Trolling

Someone has a different opinion? Trolling

Someone lives under a bridge and eats children? Freakin Trolling.

It's hard to tell someone rambling on about a different 'opinion' from someone that is being a troll trying to rile up people with differing opinions.

My strangest moment was when I accused someone of being a troll and then they admitted it and said they were bored.

I sadly admit I assumed Dark Souls was one of those brown/grey games. Only after I finally listened to a friend who nagged me to play it for years did I appreciate its world design.

That doesn't explain the brown and browner art direction in the mid 2000s.

Was this a console thing? I don't remember it.

It went hand in hand with the 'mature' edgy fad that still sticks around to some extent. Everything is morally gray and bleak, and so are all the graphics! Now let's throw in a few brutal violent scenes and lots of swearing and we have a game that makes people feel all grown up!

Another's behavior isn't an excuse for your own. The moral of the story is you did the right thing; and it's on her if she's getting herself in trouble.

I'm honestly not sure. I'm of mostly Ukranian and Bohemian ancestry for the most part, with the last quarter a mix of French/Irish/English.

I do know, sadly, that one of my grandmothers praised the Nazis unfortunately. There's no excuse for that, even with her stories. She claimed her Jewish neighbors ate while Jewish stores charged 10x the amount of money to non-Jewish people as everyone else starved. It really is disgusting to know she said anything positive about the Nazis. While visiting the Ukranian museum in Chicago a few years ago another visitor (NOT the staff) went on a strange rant about how the real reason for WWII was the Germans didn't have enough women, and he openly wondered who the 'real' bad guys were.

My point? It doesn't excuse the anti-Ukranian propaganda by pro-Russia separatists, but as someone of half Ukranian descent there most definitely IS in fact some truth to it. Obviously they seem blissfully unaware that Hitler planned to exterminate/enslave the Slavs.

My father's ancestors, who came from Bohemia, came to the USA much earlier. I'm not sure how they fit into the war. Sadly I'm not even sure when my mother's parents came, who lived in both Ukraine and the USA. From what I gather my grandmother lived in a rural area though, in territory that often shifted ownership between Poland and Ukraine.

It never occurred to me I should wonder about this, sadly. I'm not sure why.

I'm quite liberal and this topic disgusts me. Hopefully it's trolling, of course.

Reasonable people judge individual actions. Our president is a dangerous man child much of the time but he does occasionally say things I agree with.

There is never an excuse for the sentiment of the first post though. It's up to everyone to condemn rhetoric like that. I saw it all the time from "I'm not a racist" conservatives eating up whatever the latest President Obama conspiracy was popular at any given moment. Let the far right keep their hateful violence glorifying bubble worlds. The fact that almost every conservative I know IRL is a racist that cares only about voting policy that favors their dominance doesn't excuse hateful violence-encouraging rhetoric.

He is openly attacking free speech now. He lies over and over about things all the time. He can say the media doesn't cover something even when it is on the front page and his thralls will defend him.

Read his own words on Twitter.

Donald Trump is unfit to be president of this country and his now open contempt for the first amendment and reality itself proves he is not just unfit but outright dangerous.

Congress must stop him.

There was some horrible cowboy movie I saw that Seth guy in and Family Guy has always annoyed me... however perhaps I should give that Orville show a chance.

I like the new Star Trek but don't love it so far. I really loved Michelle Yeoh's character but unfortunately she died very early on.

I liked the first two episodes better than the monster-of-the-week feel of the third. It's different though that's for sure.
