Oh, and I should go to the Jays games this weekend, if only to see two baseball ogres smash some dingers.

Unfortunately you're probably going to have like 60 chances to see them both play in Toronto in your life.

AL MVP: Trout
NL MVP: Freeman

AL Cy Young: Severino
NL Cy Young: Kershaw

AL RotY: Ohtani
NL RotY: Nick Senzel (yes I just googled RotY candidates but I read about this guy some last year and he seems cool)

And I'm excited about Holland too. The Cards bullpen should be good.

The only tossups for me are the second wild cards. There are some decent teams in the AL but only a few great ones. The A's or Jays could both be good, and in the NL the Brewers should be decent as well as the two wild cards from last year. The Giants are in trouble though because of Bumgarner

The AL East is the hardest to pick and then I think the NL Central is probably the second most likely to flip. If the Mets are perfectly healthy they could be dangerous too and the Nats are always in danger of flailing.

Look at this fuckin noob, thinks there's only two Fire Emblems on 3DS.

Isn't there 4, but 3 of them are like the red/blue/yellow versions?

Yes and there's a (bad) DLC full campaign for Fates so it's sort of like 4.5. They're all good in their own ways besides that one.

I kinda hope they go all out with the modern/futuristic tech that's been a trend in Zelda lately, but I'm not sure how that would work. Like having full-blown cities would be lame to me, so maybe it isn't really a great idea. You guys who have watched more movies and stuff probably have a better idea of how to merge classical fantasy with futuristic themes.

I don't think it would be that difficult. As you say they're halfway there already and BotW was also in some ways a post apocalypse story. I liked that concept art they showed a while back where Link had like a curse that gave him a calamity Ganon looking arm which gave him dangerous powers. Something like that could be fun to make a new signature mechanic in a tonally different story. I think they're probably going to have to leave Hyrule this time though because now we have a full map of the continent

And now just to pontificate on Nintendo games for a moment, I'm thinking about times when they went all out with a game in an established franchise like that and a couple things come to mind, Breath of the Wild of course and Fire Emblem: Awakening which famously was going to be the last one so they just went wild. The odd thing about these three games is that despite being huge departures, Awakening and presumably Breath of the Wild established new templates for the series (though the Awakening template was really shoehorned into Fates) while Odyssey seems non repeatable. Whereas I'm excited about the next Zelda evolving that open world formula I could not possibly guess what's next for Mario. Probably he won't get another crazy one for a long time

I've seen arguments that the platforming elements of Odyssey are a little dumbed down vs the Galaxy games and that may be true but I think Odyssey is just such a complete package and it's full of like game magic (for lack of a better, less cheesy and fanboyish term). Some of the captures just made me shake my head because of how crash Nintendo went with Odyssey

Anyway I've been playing Nioh while we're talking games. It's fun and cool but it's too hard. Cheers

I just learned a disturbing truth: if you look at those Snapchat knockoff stories on Facebook, the creator will see that you did. So if you're stalking someone and they have a story up, think carefully about your next move.

In other news, they said my car is gonna cost $3000 which is $1000 more than I paid for the actual vehicle just to replace some parts. What the hell is happening to this country

Edit: and before you give advice I'm not paying no damn $3000 to fix that car, I'd sell it to a junk yard for 300 first

Then he would hate St. Louis! Boy oh boy do we celebrate our white heritage here. There's seriously like four parades. If I go to one I go to the one by my childhood home in the Irish part of town (unironically it's probably one of the top 2 or 3 cool neighborhoods in the city but it is also way too into the Catholic shit around) then there's the downtown parade and the fancy county parade and then some others. I heard about a fourth one for the first time yesterday!

Anyway thanks and happy St. Paddy's to you too. I hope you got to eat corn beef and cabbage (I never eat the cabbage)
