In this case, that's the right move. You either get rid of him and the idol now or risk it being played against you in 2 days. Now, Domenick is going to play it at the next Tribal Council... and potentially on Wendell if he can gauge who the target is the way Joe did with Ashley's face last season. If he plays it right, I hope James goes home in the most delicious blindside since Scot Pollard fell to Aubry and Tai. And then I might watch again. Also, tiers, now that I'm done with the season... Why not blindside him and the idol they think he has instead of making it clear to him that he's on the bottom and getting him to play it next time? He's going to cause a LOT of damage (I do hope he gets James the sexist douche with that idol). Why not nip that in the bud and tell Morgan and Wendell that Domenick was playing games with idols and they had to blindside him? Libby could salvage Morgan. They could then get rid of Chris. I mean, him and Meg are loving life, but I don't think Mike can resist coming back and trying to be a badass again, which he was even if he's a lower-tier winner. I don't believe Rodney wants to come back. He was really, really sick after it was all said and done and had a stint in an ICU, which is why he wasn't on the ballot for Cambodia (CBS didn't want to risk him getting even sicker in the horrible filming location). I think he's gotten everything he wanted out of the Survivor experience, too. Dan is on the blacklist for taking the entirety of his exit press day to whine about his edit. Vince Sly had secondbootitis and has been forgotten by everyone except the superfans. So Kim is a definite consideration if they do a pre-jury second chance sort of thing. I'd love a "Superfans vs. Second Chances" season where they have a tribe of ten superfans versus a tribe of ten people who either left really early or got dragged to the end as a goat and reamed. In other words... can former fodder turn it around? | BlueCrystalTear 03/04/18 7:38:31 PM #262 | Shane is a bit different. Survivor had way more ballots and the superfan podcast listeners were only about 20% of the vote. BBCAN is in Canada, which has fewer people, and the RHAP group includes international people who are casting hundreds of votes a day. It's a more significant portion of the ballots. Random casuals also seem to prefer her, at least based on the replies to Arisa asking who people voted for. Keep in mind these are also newbies and people have little to go off of. With Second Chance, they had their first go in mind - and casuals don't really like Shane. Plus, there were ballot limits - there isn't here. I'd presume a lot of casuals just vote once and are done. Based on how the RHAP contingent is vote stuffing like mad, I'd say Kirsten is a lock. I'm putting 6% in Roth 401k and only that right now, but my dad told me that's what's best when you're in your 20s and just starting out. Roth contributions are taxed, meaning when you take the money out, there's no penalty - it's yours. Traditional means you pay taxes when you make a withdrawal. All of my retirement income (I mean, it's 6% of my paycheque since that's all I can afford, but it counts for something) is being put into a Roth 401k right now because I'm young enough that the money will grow far more than it would if I put it in later in life. I won't have to pay taxes on a dime of that money I currently have in there, which is sitting around $10,000 right now. That's going to look like a lot more when retirement is closer. And it will be all mine for the taking. Investing in the Roth is far preferable while you're still young. As you age, switching to the traditional account might be more valuable because your taxes won't be as damning when you withdraw it. You'll also be making a higher annual salary, of course, so you'll be able to invest more, which will grow at least somewhat. Regardless of where you put the money, you should be glad that you're setting aside this money now, because the older you will be very thankful for that income. I would say Paul was the reason they were bitter toward Paul, Josh had some agency but it was Pauls game to lose. Had Alex and Whistle-Nut not seen what Josh had said followed by Paul's lies, then perhaps they'd have been over it by the time the vote came. Josh sold Paul out knowing that Paul didn't want any blood on his hands... and Josh didn't want any on his, so he smeared the blood on Paul's back instead. The methodology was brilliant in that Josh owned his game AND Paul's at the same time, making him look way better than Paul. Selling Paul out when the houseguest was mad about their eviction made them unable to get over it. For all of sequester, they associated Paul as being the one to perpetrate their ouster, all while being too cowardly to admit that he had done it. Had Paul done the proper goodbye messages saying, "Look, I'm sorry I lied to you and used you the way I did. You're a great person, and that's what made you a threat to my game." or typical stuff like that, they might have been able to respect his move from a game standpoint. Josh won because he took jury management seriously. The jury was not bitter because they were outplayed. They were never going to give $500K to someone who was telling them that they were stupid. It was the correct outcome; had Paul owned his game and respected the jury, different story. Mark outright said Paul was the better player but he voted for Josh because of how Paul was treating the jury. Paul was this close! Ross half-owned his game and didn't insult the jury's intelligence. Yes, he didn't do a great job, but it didn't matter since petty people were not going to listen regardless. Marissa outright said to vote for Ross while delivering horrific answers that more resembled Paul than Ross did. The jury, particularly Shannon and Omarosa, were bitter, petty, and sexist. It was the wrong outcome. But I just see something in her that'll allow her to shatter those perceptions... then be a good social player anyway. And, as for perceptions, I don't trust Chris's, since he's more concerned with his abs than the other players. I REALLY regret picking that guy. I did listen to First One Out, but Morgan's interview appeared long after this draft was conducted. I submitted my write-ups last Tuesday. I only had a few things to go on and I still think she'll do well. It's also worth noting that Ben was perceived as a big threat last season, yet they didn't even try to throw a challenge to get him out on Yawa... and nobody seemed to even entertain the idea until the final 7. A lot of these first impressions simply disappear given time. You might also note that my first inclination based on a few things only was Chelsea, which is why I picked her later on, but I have zero confidence in her ability to win by now. I think this season's winner is someone less expected, which is why Probst hasn't been in full hype mode. Thus, likely female, likely someone he wasn't keen on (he wasn't sure if Morgan could win), but likely not a Michele. Morgan just works in my brain. If you want a full season, I recommend BB10 as a starting point - it's a very back-to-basics season that's always a great watch. BB6 is also a good choice.
