I like that the OT characters end up living through tragic lives.

My biggest issue with the ST is the New Order and the Resistance. Feels so samey. I get they wanted to go for something more safe after the prequels however.

But I have no issue at all with characters like Luke and Han Solo not having perfect, heroic lives after the OT. I think that's great. Life isn't that easy. Just because you accomplish something amazing doesn't mean you are immune from failure. Sometimes hitting your peak and then failing hits even harder.

I also think it's good they're moving away from powerful bloodlines and all that. Apparently the books hint that Rey gained powers from her link to Kylo. I saw some people notice that Rey and Kylo have the same fighting style which supports that theory too. We'll see if they go with that in episode 9.

What strikes me as odd is that it's not inherently a negative to have been born with or grown up with some kind of privilege. It's not a dirty word, and anyone who rolls their eyes at the mere mention of it should probably do some careful self analysis. You can grow up in a healthy or wealthy family and still run into all sorts of issues like discrimination or mental health problems.

It's only an issue if they lack understanding or empathy because of it. "I never experienced the problem, therefore it doesn't exist", etc.

Exactly. Everyone should use the opportunities available to them. That's not a bad thing at all.

But some people refuse to acknowledge that maybe other people don't have the same opportunities. Combine this and a condescending attitude and you've got an elitist asshole.

Killmonger is a relatable kind of villain in the same way villains like Joker and Two-Face are. Or even anti-heroes like The Punisher.

People who are broken by society. People who decide one day to put the power back in the own hands. What if you stopped caring about being good and did what you wanted and what you felt was right even at the expense of everyone else? Of course there's a revenge fantasy element for characters like that. Killmonger adds that extra layer for people because he's lived under an oppression that is relatable to a lot of people.

I think these sorts of villains end up being the best. They represent the worst of what you could potentially be if you stopped trying to be good.

Thanos is awesome. But none of us are out there arguing to kill half the population to save our planet. None of us are imaging a scenario where we end up being the sole survivor and we decide to go grab some infinity stones.

This has always been the case.

The same year Godzilla came out was another movie called Armageddon. A humongous success that eventually lead to the Transformers movies he is whining about.

Universal has to abandon plans for their monster movie franchise after The Mummy flopped.

I'm sure there are countless more examples. If anything it seems like critic reviews have more of an impact now than they ever did thanks to Rotten Tomatoes.

The internet does give a platform for everyone who wants to use it though but I'd say this is only really an issue for nerdy movie properties with overly passionate fans.

Yeah, I'm pretty salty that dumbfucks like Pichu, Daisy, Dark Pit and Lucina are still in while we still don't have several iconic Nintendo staples that are more than deserving of be included in the roster, i.e. King K. Rool, Isaac, Takamaru, etc. Although Ridley was a nice addition.

Clones will always have an easier time getting through because they take less development time.

This is why I think Smash Ultimate will have Shadow instead of Tails or Eggman for example.

While your examples are all valid it's not just about dating. It's more that social pressure to be more masculine and tough and being treated like you're a failure or less of a man if you're not. Outside of that you're correct.

I don't know why some guys get so offended over it. Just be who you want to be and don't expect everyone else to be the same. Being masculine yourself isn't toxic.

The newspaper about the two people killed will surely be a big plot point and I'm guessing you play as one of the two neighbors shown at the end. Not sure how the powers will tie into it though. Maybe a few of them will have powers this time or one of the neighbors used their powers to save Chris.

Not sure why you're so fussed over that being a dumb comment and not;

Van Damme first clashed with the minister early on in the programme, rudely interrupting her as she spoke about the female identity. He let out a whistle and an Oh my god before proceeding to ask who would take care of the children if all women had a job.

Van Damme returned on the issue of taking care of the children which, according to him, was a womans prerogative, while the husbands role was to work and provide for his family.
