Absolutely: for several reasons!

1) Games (notably Nintendo but a few others), significant in videogame history, but not worth playing

2) Games that I may eventually need for comparison when I'm writing an article, answering a question, or something. Any Monster Hunter clone would fit.

3) Games that sound interesting, were on sale for cheap, that I might play someday, no hurry

4) Games, unappealing but highly recommended, bought cheap, that I might actually grit my teeth, hold my nose, and try, just to see what all the fuss is about

5 . Games that I'll gamble a few bucks on, just because.

6. Games that I intend to play but got shuffled to the back of the stack for some reason

AE86. Rear drive, conventional layout, Easy to tune.

A Celica is a better bet than MR2. Same motor, but accessible to work on. Mid-engine is fun but hell for maintenance. Just put a new cam belt and water pump on my turbo Celica.

Hondas have interference motors, spin off the timing belt and poof! goes the motor.

A 30-40 year old car for a daily driver is a crapshoot regardless of how good a mechanic you are. It's good to have a newer beater car for a grocery-getter.

In real life, one can of Spam doesn't go very far. I won't give up my teddy bears. A ban on Ouisge is not a real problem, I can get brandy instead. My jar of marbles and Magic Eight Ball I could live without. OTOH, the magnetic compass is vital for setting my gyrocompass.

I guess my point is, there's a wide range of "normal". My muffler shop thought it unusual that I wanted a performance muffler.. I like to hear when to shift, being able to richen the mixture for a bit more performance is a plus, too. Apparently not typical of older ladies, in their experience.

Similarly, in my peer group, others with interests in gardening, cooking, knitting; a few golfers, a few that drive stick shift, no other pilots, mechanics, sports car enthusiasts, martial artists. Am I "abnormal"? Not really.

So, if you want dolls, go dolls.

why would i use an electric kettle when i could just boil the water on the stove

because it's much, much quicker.

you keep it in the cabinet and put it back when you're done. just like a pot.

smh Americans

or i could just put a pot on the stove instead of having something ultimately useless cluttering up my kitchen

and take 10~mins to boil vs 40 seconds

I mostly drink coffee, made in a drip coffeemaker.

My electric Hot Pot is faster for boiling water, but for tea or rice it's easier to just heat water on the stove than to get out the Hot Pot, make space for it on the countertop, and plug it in. For ramen, I use the microwave

For demonstrations in cooking classes, the Hot Pot is handy for boiling water on a tabletop in a classroom.
