I don't know. Most millennial writers (such as they are), seem to think of themselves less as writers, and more as businesspeople.

Kinda misses the whole point of writing, doesn't it?

I would agree that that defeats the purpose. I don't think most sensible people who self publish however are in it for the money. Hell, I've barely made anything and the only thing that bothers me is that means I don't have as large of an audience as I'd like.

The point of something like Createspace, at least to me, is to subvert the "it's who you know" process of typical publishing, which more often than not does not rely on quality for qualification, but instead is based on some type of "in" with a person at the company. I'd rather just have my stuff out there than hope for a miracle basically.

Is Createspace just a free digital publishing thing, like Amazon? Or is it actual physical publishing that you pay for?

My opinion is based on subjective reasoning, meaning of course I'd rather have any modern day console than those old consoles. But AT THE TIME, those consoles kicked all kinds of ass and had the most amazing games.

Switch is a port machine so far with two original games that interest me.

Seasonal effective disorder. It's where a whole season makes you depressed. Most people get it in the winter, but I live in Houston, and the summer heat and humidity just get to me. I just want to stay inside all the time and not do anything.

Cow Appreciation Day is the one day of the year when its okay to dress udderly crazy in exchange for free food. Here's how it works:

Make or buy your cow costume (or any sort of cow apparel, really).
Wear your cow costume to your favorite Chick-fil-A between Opening and 7 p.m.
Receive a free entree!

TopicSomeone tell me how hijabs are a form of expression at all?
spanky1
07/10/18 11:34:33 AM
#68
I think the thing that annoys me is that it's as if some people refuse to believe that many people, even those in western countries, are forced to wear the hijab. Yes, I get that many can choose to, and that's great, and for them it is a form of expression, but for many people, even in free countries, they're forced to by family, and that just doesn't sit well with me. I can't look at it and feel good about it. For every story about your Muslim friend that sometimes wears it and sometimes doesn't and views it a great expression of their faith or whatever, there are stories like this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/exmuslim/comments/6dxgb3/auntie_saw_me_without_my_hijab_on_and_told_my/

https://www.reddit.com/r/exmuslim/comments/7nfgcw/first_night_without_hijab/

https://www.reddit.com/r/exmuslim/comments/7xeamn/i_hate_the_hijab_so_much/

I feel for them, because I too was raised in a cult, so that's the point of view that I'm looking at this from. For those that have the freedom to wear it or not and choose, that's great, you exercise your freedom of expression. But I'm just saying that I'm very aware of the fact that there are tons of people out there who are trapped in it, and that's depressing to me.

And no, I don't want hijabs banned. That's dumb.

I'm a bit taken aback by the responses here. Many people are trapped in the religion, who would like to leave but can't because it's an extremely controlling one. I have a friend that chooses to wear it. You don't have to view a damn thing. It just is. They choose to do it. At this point, you're saying they're making the wrong choice for themselves by wearing it, which goes against the spirit of self expression.

No I'm not. I said in my post many Muslims view it as an optional choice, and that's great, but many are forced into doing it, which some people don't want to believe for some reason.

I view it the same way as I do Jehovah's Witnesses that go door to door preaching. Many people are forced into doing it, so I'm always aware of that and have compassion for those that don't have a choice.

If you look at all the notice boards it should reveal all the question marks.

But honestly at a certain point you can just ignore them.

Depends on whether you're willing to miss out on Places of Power, really. Instant free skill points never stop being relevant. Everything else tries to give you formulae you haven't found yet or weapons caches; non-Witcher weapons and armor are completely useless, but they're a good source of money, while the formulae are incredibly important to find up until you have them all (which will be in the middle of whichever you do first out of Velen or Skellige if you go for any real number of question marks).

Eh, the game is easy enough to where you can use non-witcher equipment I think. I honestly think the treasure hunts are boring, and on my second playthrough I completely ignored them.
