And also, no, he isn't very much like Trump in the beginning of the movie, or at any point, I was just saying that for argument's sake. He is 'like' Trump in one vague way about not letting foreign problems hurt his home country. Literally the entire point of the movie is against it though, there is literally a scene very close to the beginning where his father T'Chaka tells him that they're isolated from the rest of the world and that they don't meddle in other countries problems, and he just say, "Why?" That question of, 'why' is the driving point of the theme of the movie. Literally the entire point, and it just goes WOOSH over dumbasses heads. Anyone who thinks otherwise is trolling or wrong. It's just completely impossible way to look at it, and could only be used as a source of humor I think, kind of like how they make Barney Stinson look like a fuck-face when he tells everyone that he thinks the hero of The Karate Kid is the douchy blonde bully. --- Dot Dot Dot... |

It's the first time a major blockbuster has had an almost all black cast, compared to almost every single other blockbuster having majority white, with token black characters. Remember in South Park when Token said to Stan, "You just don't get it." That's what's going on here. I have some of the same feelings about it as you, it isn't really that great of a movie, and the scenes in Compton felt a little silly to me. But, I've already had a whole shitload of movies where I had vaguely sciency/nerdy white guys representing me beating stuff up. Will Smith almost cried watching this movie, and I definitely didn't, so just accept that you just don't get it. --- Dot Dot Dot... |
