LeonhartFour 06/08/18 3:53:30 PM #123 | I like that moment during trial day 2 where Apollo reveals that Shadi Smith was Zak Gramarye, and he looks over to Trucy to see how she took the news, and she doesn't skip a beat, telling him to finish the case and they'll talk about it later. --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 3:16:44 PM #122 | tangentially related to that I applied for that Amazon credit card but I was reading the reviews of it afterward and apparently the company that supports the card is really bad so now I don't know that I'll ever use it but it did come with a free $40 Amazon gift card for being approved for it and I might use that to finally buy DQ8 3DS so I can pay off my debt to LotM --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 2:57:58 PM #119 | I think all I've bought this year is Kirby Star Allies, SF 30th Anniversary Collection, and the Tropical Freeze port as far as new games are concerned. I think I'm going to end up buying some more of those Switch ports this year, too, like the MMX one and the TWEWY one. I just don't buy stuff because it's a good deal or really cheap or something. of course I've still got lots of games I've yet to play but I do intend to play them eventually --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 2:45:59 PM #116 | I still pre-order stuff all the time if it's something I know I want and will play eventually. I don't play or buy as many video games in general as the average B8er seems to though. I don't understand these people who have hundreds of games on their Steam account. I have 18 and about half of those were gifted to me in Steam giveaways. --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 2:23:55 PM #114 | I'll take it I've had my KH3 pre-order since January 2014. I'm getting it for $40 because there was a brief period of time when it dropped to $40 for no discernible reason, but Amazon guarantees that you get the item for the lowest price it's ever listed at for pre-orders. I've had my FFVIIR pre-order since July 2015. I didn't realize it'd already been three years since that thing was announced. --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 1:58:58 PM #122 | Yeah, he has natural skill at it, too. He admits he's really good on his own, just not "undefeated for seven years" good. I guess Zak telling him Magnifi is the only other person who's ever beaten him at cards gave him the idea he might be good enough to make a living off of it. I'd like Apollo to try playing cards at some point. --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 10:52:31 AM #120 | Which begs the question of when did he realize Trucy could do it? He had to be playing poker first, you'd think. The order of events is kind of unclear. Speaking of which, it's kind of weird that DD and SoJ never draw attention to the fact that Trucy has the same power as Apollo. That's just become a forgotten detail, it seems. --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 1:48:03 AM #116 | Hmmm...I think this is the first time I'm replaying AJ since beating SoJ. I'm at the part where Brushel is talking about Thalassa's first husband. He mentions that he was a performer (I always assumed magician but it didn't have to be, of course) and that he died onstage. That's not true precisely, of course, but he did die at the place he was performing, so it's close enough. Apparently, they were only married for about a year when he died, so Apollo came along pretty quickly, I guess! --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 1:31:27 AM #113 | Phoenix: I guess that's why he never took visitors here. Wouldn't want people seeing all this. Brushel: Yes, in fact I was the first human being ever to set foot inside this studio. Er, other than Mr. Misham, of course. Oh, and Vera, too. And, this is assuming I'm human, of course. Phoenix: (...I'm beginning to have my doubts.) Brushel so good --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 12:59:32 AM #112 | "I feel very much on the verge of going psycho lock myself!" Drew Misham was the best victim before Tahrust Inmee came along also I love the fact that Phoenix is so embittered and determined at this point that he doesn't even bother hiding the concept of Psyche-Locks from Drew like he normally does but he also never attempts to explain what they are to him --- |

LeonhartFour 06/08/18 12:01:12 AM #108 | _SecretSquirrel posted... I'm not sure exactly how an out-of-practice artist that never got that far in his formal education would make money I mean we don't know how far he got in his formal education! Maybe he was a double major and has degrees in both law and art! We don't even know what his artistic talent was. Either way, it's weird that his first choice is piano/poker. And yeah, his real job is playing poker, but how did he (or the restaurant he worked at) discover he was so good at it? He had to start with playing piano first, right? I agree it makes sense that he's good at it because he's so good at bluffing, reading people, reacting quickly, and not being afraid to take risks. It also makes sense to me that he wouldn't want to be involved in any kind of illegal gambling because he's still a lawyer deep down. --- |

LeonhartFour 06/07/18 11:28:51 PM #103 | you know it's never occurred to me before but Phoenix was an art student in college so why doesn't he do something related to that instead of pretending to play piano? --- |

LeonhartFour 06/07/18 10:49:07 PM #101 | "Quite the collection of law books. My mentor bought all of them. I used to be too busy to read them. Now that I have the time to read them, there's no need...but I can't just sell them." I've always really liked that line from Phoenix. Examining all the stuff in the office in the past results in some really bittersweet monologues from him. --- |

LeonhartFour 06/07/18 10:43:08 PM #100 | you know sometimes I wonder what would've happened to Trucy if Zak had stuck with Kristoph as his attorney maybe she would've turned out to be an evil magician like every other Gramarye --- |

LeonhartFour 06/07/18 10:20:48 PM #99 | You know, after replaying 4-0, I'm actually starting to think it might be Klavier's best showing. He's probably the best part of that thing, along with Valant's "Alakazaaaaaaaugh" damage reactions. He's clearly a rookie and Phoenix frequently gets the better of him because he makes basic oversights, but he's quick on his feet and his heart is in the right place when it comes to nailing Phoenix for forged evidence, even if he has the wrong target. Also, I'm wondering if Klavier stepped away from prosecuting after 4-0 until 4-2. The resolution of the case clearly bothered him, and the Judge mentions at the beginning of 4-2 that he'd been away from the prosecutor's bench for a while, although he doesn't specify how long. 4-0 seems to be for him what 3-4 was for Mia. --- |
