Yeah but was it ever proven that he actually was what he was alleged to be? It wasn't a direct comment or action that caused his massive downfall. I saw a video of his recently where he's like outside of a restaurant or something and he looked and sounded like a mess, I kind of felt bad for him.

The authenticity of the thing is what I like so much about it. Everything down to the CRT filter they put over it makes it feel "right". And the controller is perfect. Feels and controls just like the original. Just like how it was growing up.

Any other way, just never feels right to me. Timing is always off. Muscle memory is shot because alternatives are always way smoother than the original.

The little console itself also just looks badass.

That's all understandable.

Final Fantasy 9
This game and Bioshock are tied for first in my top ten games ever list. This game is so. Damn. Good. It takes everything great about all the Final Fantasy games that preceded it and puts it all into one very nice package. The soundtrack is phenomenal, the characters are all excellent and relatable, and the graphics, for their time/console, were great. There are a few issues in this game that I personally have, but the pure enjoyment I got from this game has not been matched.

That was a total slog of a run. Four Job Fiesta, Black Mage/Berserker/Geomancer/Dragoon
Basically, Black Mage provided everything. The raw power to nuke things to death before my complete lack of healing killed me(never before have I used so many freaking potions, tents, and cottages. I'd buy Potions x99 at a time. I nearly cried when I could buy Hi-Potions). It powered the Berserker's Rune Axe. It gave Dragoon something to do, because lances and Dragoons are meh. It couldn't redeem Geomancer, but good God, it tried.

In any case, I had to cheese the hell out of Neo-ExDeath as I have never had to before. I spammed Break until I got lucky(after four wipes) and killed the part that casts Almagest. I grabbed the Thief Knife and hunted Crystal Dragons until I managed to get a Dragon Lance so my Dragoon could murder the part that casts Grand Cross. I used the Magic Lamp to kill a 3rd-part with Odin. Even then, my team was bloodied and battered, and Faris ate it to a double Vacuum Wave.
All that after grinding a good half-dozen levels. This party was bad.

I LOVE the class system and combat in this FF moreso than every other 2d FF. Super underrated game.

Riven
Take everything Myst did, and turn it up to 11. The world is bigger (in the sense that most of it is interconnected, rather than separated by portals of a sort). The atmosphere is more oppressive. And godDAMN are the puzzles more obtuse. Myst's puzzles are mostly restricted to each island - the stuff in one Age usually doesn't bleed into another. In Riven, nearly all the work you're doing is in some way connected to one of two major puzzles. And don't expect to ever get all the information you need - you will need to use process of elimination to fill in gaps where they don't give you everything.

It might sound like I'm bashing the game, but I'm not. I adore it. This is the kind of shit that I love. This game is basically a massive test of your attention to detail - get one single thing wrong, and you're screwed until you go back to check it again. Not only that but the worldbuilding is spectacular; Riven is such an interesting place to be.

That sounds interesting. I did play Myst on a throwaway computer as a kid but never did get very into it. I just don't think puzzle games are for me.

Dungeons and Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun
Okay. This game right here is the absolute worst game to ever have as your first game ever. I would know, because it was. Mine and my brother's first console was a Sega Genesis, and this was the first game we got for it (both we found at a yard sale). Needless to say, it was a confusing, albeit interesting, introduction to games. What made it horrible was the difficulty and the fact that you needed at least a passing understanding of RPG mechanics to play it. The only thing other than that which sticks out to me is that there is a waterfall on the northern most part of the world map that houses a seahorse dragon thing. That was the farthest I ever got in this game. I kind of want to play it again.

It's a tough game and kind of hard to get into now but I've beaten it before.

Also, the soundtrack is 10/10.

I also remember the intro "cinematic" where the king or whoever is talking. That shit was epic with the music iirc.

Halo 2
This game is the only game I ever LAN'd, and it was a blast. I had it on the OG Xbox and, because I didn't have internet or XBL at the time, LAN was my only go to. 4v4 with my friends and family was some of the best times I've ever had with a multiplayer games. Also, dual wielding was incredibly fun.

Grabbed by the Ghoulies
I played this game a lot on my original Xbox back in, like, 2003 or so? I was still a kid at that point. I really enjoyed the "cozy" feel of the game. It was also pretty good gameplay-wise. The funny thing about this game is that, despite it being marketed more to kids, it was still hard as balls in the latter parts of the game. Surprisingly, I was able to beat it as a kid. Years later, when I had access to the internet, I found out that most people hated this game and I was honestly surprised. The game wasn't bad at all, and it was kind of charming. Oh well.

Childhood personified. I loved every single thing about this game as a kid, almost. The graphics, music, levels, gameplay. Since back then there was no internet at my house and I couldn't get answers to everything, I had to figure everything out by myself. I spent countless hours inputting words in the sand castle, trying to find all the jiggies, notes, jinjos, etc., and I loved every minute of it. Except for Rusty Bucket Bay. Fuck that level.

My most played competitive online shooter. 400+ hours played online only. Still, in my opinion, the pinnacle of the series. Incredibly well-balanced. Launch was perfect and smooth with no issues. Played it consistently for 5 years. I still come back to this game every now and then.

Heh. The thing that stands out to me the most about this game is the sex and boobies minigame at the beginning of the game while still on the boat. The reason? My mom walked in on me playing the game at that exact point. I was just as shocked as she was but that didn't stop me from getting a whooping.

Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis
This is one of the few games that I will expressly admit to being mediocrity personified. Everything about this game was a cliche party basket of JRPG and anime tropes from ages gone. But, despite this fact, I actually enjoyed this game in a mindless, grind-y kind of way. Ironically, my brother bought this game because he is very much into these types of RPGs, whereas I am not. He hated it, but I enjoyed it.

Heh, I literally got this game just because I was in my JRPG phase at the time. As far as JRPG combat goes, the combat is at least a top 10 for me. I just love how fast-paced it is, the combat never really felt boring to me. I remember the true final boss being kind of a fucker though. I mean, really game? You're really gonna disable my healing late into the final boss fight? Real mature, game.

I do remember the combat being good -- one of its redeeming factors.

First game I ever played on the PS2. My grandmother bought this game for me as a b-day gift from Sam's Club (you know old people and their Sam's Club love). I had played Rayman 2 on the N64 and really enjoyed it, so I thought I would like this one too. I didn't. It wasn't bad by any means, but it felt, I don't know, off? Like it was lacking something important. I hated some of the minigames too.

Steambot Chronicles
The only reason I remember this game is because my brother had it for his PS2 in his early teens and was always trying to get me to play it too. The game had, in my opinion, the worst controls for any game I've ever played. Everything else about the game was pretty decent: graphics, characters, story. But the controls for the combat and gameplay was just atrocious. My brother loved it, though, and still talks about this game every once in a while.

I can kinda see what they were going for. It's literally some amnesiac schmuck piloting a machine with somewhat complicated controls for the first time. It's a bit clunky at first, but once you get used to it you'll be zipping around like a pro. Story's good enough that I can recommend giving it one last attempt.

Hmm, maybe... I would try it again but I heard the game was rare as heck or something.
