Damn, that's too young to have to deal with this shit. Someone mentioned that cancer is 5% genetic and I just find that insane. I'm always hearing about incredibly healthy and young people that eat well and work out non-stop getting cancer. Can we really do nothing to prevent it? It's a scary thought.

I had the same reaction to my doctor when she told me. "I eat healthy and exercise". She said it's not so much an issue of your overall health, it's just something inside breaks for whatever reason. It's random. Obviously environmental factors can play a role, but mostly just a cell happens to get banged up.

She said I'd drive myself crazy if I tried to pinpoint why this happened to me.

Dr. Strange I plopped right at the beginning because it's really disconnected from the rest of the series, in Winter Soldier it makes it sound like he's been active for a long time, and in Ragnorak he's obviously a lot more experienced. So giving a larger gap between this film and Strange's later scenes/mentions makes sense.

The Hobbit...well it had its troubles and Peter Jackson does not have all the blame. From what I have heard some buisness, time and legal issues really mucked some things up.

Watching the behind the scenes stuff for Battle of the Five Armies is heartbreaking.

There's a shot where they were shooting stuff in Erebor and Jackson just kinda slumps against a pillar, plants his hands in his face, and is like "I have no idea what I'm doing."

Some of it is that yeah but there really are shows or episodes that have a writer that really pushes their ideas and biases including political ones.

I'm sure there are instances, but for the vast majority of TV and film, that is not the case.

Based on the set with Vision and rewatching the trailer it's pretty clear now that Corvus Glaive is the one that gets the Mind Stone from Vision when he stabs him in the head with that scythe staff. I guess the main question is if it kills him.

I'd love it if Thanos or someone else just pops up, says "this is taking too long" and just crushes Vision's face.

I realize it's a bit weird that I'm so gung-ho about that. But really, what's a better way for you to cement these people as credible villains and a true threat? Killing a (probably the most powerful) Avenger in such a brutal way would absolutely accomplish that. And raise the stakes.

I think it already has. My worldview and my perspective on stuff like my mortality, and the quality of my life has changed a lil bit since my diagnosis.

I also had a nice/fucked up dream last night. I dreamed that my doc called me in and went over the CT scan results. She mentioned that the tumors seemed to already be decreasing in size by nearly 50%.

Basically that I was already in remission.
