The cruel irony is that both the modern Israelis and Palestinians are descendants of the ancient Israelites. The former are descended from those who left(either by choice or exile) and the latter those who stayed and eventually converted to Islam.
There's also the Versailles Treaty dimension to the issue too, because that thing messed up everything it touched on, but I digress.
This is a terrible development and represents a further degradation of modern Israel.

It wouldn't surprise me if he did, honestly. Mueller's been following the trail, and is probably well within his immediate family(Don Jr. and Jared Kushner are probably dead-to-rights). He's getting increasingly desperate(and is also an idiot with idiot lawyers), so he's probably going to end up Saturday Night Massacre-ing it, except it will be even dumber and more transparent than when Nixon tried it. The likes of Jeff Flake and Ben Sasse will be livid, but nothing will happen until after mid-terms. Even then, there probably won't be enough votes to convict in the Senate.

Some people wanted him to sanction Russia for whatever reason. Trump said no.

He doesn't get to say no. The sanctions passed Congress nearly unanimously and were signed by his own hand. It's his constitutional duty to carry those sanctions out.

What you're saying is empirically false, as shown by the fact that he did say no, and nothing came of it.

The president has a constitutional obligation to faithfully uphold the duties of his office, and that includes implementing legislation that's passed Congress and been signed into law, regardless of whether or not he agrees with it. Trump and his party are trampling the Constitution because they aren't willing to actually prosecute his infractions, and you're perfectly okay with that?

Guess what: the only thing that can force Trump to carry out his duties is Congress, so this argument is purely academic. The president isn't supposed to ignore Congress, but he can if Congress lets him get away it(which this Congress will).

Pretty sure this was the opposite of "generic" as far as MCU films go

The movie's genre could fall under comedy and nobody would bat an eye

Generic MCU is funny snark here and there. Thor 3 is all snark. Which is why I understand why some people don't like it, I'm fine with that, but generic is the last word I'd use to describe it.

Yeah, what struck me with Ragnarok is that it's funny. Really, genuinely, funny, without feeling forced. The entire sequence with Dr. Strange is a great example. Also Thor running into the Hulk the first time, or Jeff Goldblum(all of the Jeff Goldblum).
Apparently, a lot of the dialogue was ad-libbed, and it worked beautifully. If anything, I'd say the movie suffers a bit from Hela being a pretty generic antagonist, Cate Blanchett's performance notwithstanding.

Serious question from somebody that doesn't know a lot of legal details - can Trump issue a preemptive pardon? Something that would give him immunity from having the subpoena?

I'm not a legal expert, but I believe a pardon requires there to have been a crime to be issued. Furthermore, were Trump to pre-emptively pardon anyone Mueller has his hooks in, they would be unable to invoke the 5th to get out of testifying about their dealings(as they have already admitted guilt and been absolved of the consequences by accepting a presidential pardon), meaning they could be held in contempt if they refused to cooperate. And, of course, Trump can only pardon federal crimes: if one of the state attorney generals involved charged some one with something, Trump couldn't save them.

Not exactly, but the Ottomans ended up favoring more conservative schools in part to emphasize their status as the Caliphate, and never you Syrians, Kurds, Mesopotamians, Egyptians, etc. mind that the Turks are running the show. And, of course, the most influential sect in modern (Sunni) Islam is Saudi Wahabbism, which makes most 7th-century religions look forward-thinking.
