For this midterm, though, I kind of know already how I got my score, since my teacher explained it during class. Not to sound too rude, but you were stupid, at least during the exam. If you were the smartest person in the universe, you would have gotten it right, but you're not the smartest person, you're with everyone else. So, since you're with everyone else, you can choose to... I guess humble yourself to them (that's the right word I think). Ask for help, there's nothing wrong with that at all. Everyone fucks up, it's human, but knowing how to act when you fuck up is the important part. Hammering down and focusing even harder and retreating into your shell isn't a socially healthy way of going about it. Ask for help, make even a small support network of 2-3 people who are similar to you, and work on stuff together. Mine other people instead of books for knowledge and methods, because being able to just straight asking someone why they chose to integrate a certain way instead of just reading, re-reading until you just burn the system into your eyes is honestly great. Most people like helping other people out, they get to feel smart, they get to help someone out, and you get to reap the benefits of it. Asking for help is honestly the best thing to do. If you wanted to get into grad school, or just cared about the benefits of all A's (whatever the hell they are), then we can talk about the specifics and so on, but it doesn't matter. Obviously that doesn't mean just go for just C's, but you don't need to break your back over getting only A's. Sometimes it happens, classes are hard, it's college. Now, you have the harder problem of, if you actually agree with me, and believe me, to actually be able to internalize it. Because saying, "oh, these assholes did better than me, fuck them" isn't the go way to look at your classmates. Everyone's in it together, and someone doing better than you doesn't directly effect you. Someone getting 20% higher than you doesn't reduce your score in any way, you got your score, and he/she got his/hers.
