I get what you're saying though and I probably agree with you especially the part about Leo's defining characteristic is how he's the leader, but this show kinda clearly is trying to change a lot of things so I guess I'm open to it. I'm sure they'll find other ways to make Leo interesting. Melee doesn't need EVO anymore, especially the way these Smash only majors have been growing. Melee and Smash 4's low numbers most likely have to do with 1. Super Smash Con (one of the biggest Smash majors) is a week after EVO, and I'm sure Melee/Smash 4 players are choosing SSC over EVO because... 2. Smash Bros gets treated pretty badly at EVO, especially in 2016. Many top players said they would never come back to EVO after how they handled Smash that year. 3.
