I was shocked that the Youtuber thought Raven's costume looked best. It looks thrown together; I don't know much of Raven's backstory beyond the animated show and I didn't even watch all of that, but I don't think homeless goth teen is a look that fits her.

Starfire does indeed look like a prostitute. Her hair's marginally better than it was in that old picture, but it still doesn't look real.

Beast Boy's costume is fine because it's just a regular outfit. And while I understand why a streaming show's budget doesn't allow for permagreen skin, the hair should be entirely green so it doesn't look dyed.

This is one thing I agree with the Youtuber on: this show obviously did not get a very impressive budget. I bet she's right on the money about Beast Boy getting Vixen's powerset. Even if he does turn into animals, a cybernetic full-time character is asking a bit much.

he's not a Titan anymore. in the new continuity, he never was. since 2011, they changed it so that he doesn't even know the Titans and has nothing to do with them. He's just with the Justice League. I still think it;s weird. I can't not think of him as a like C list character. I'll probably never consider him to be on the same level as the big ones like Batman and Superman and Wonderwoman. not even like Flash or Aquaman or Green Lantern. but younger people growing up with a Justice League Cyborg probably will think of it differently

I'm no comic book fan but I never understand why people get mad at TV shows/movies for taking comic ideas in a new direction

Why be mad at new teen titans for being NEW teen titans and not just rehashing the same old?

Don't you know that the Ghostbusters movie in the 80s was taking an old idea in a new direction?

people want to see what they like in the comics, in live action. they are fans of what's in the comics, and they excited to see actors playing it on the screen. not to see totally different stuff

you could have a point if the same characters get a bunch of shows and movies. and then maybe do something new. but if this is the first time it's ever been adapted to the screen it should be like the comic

the actress playing Starfire would have looked good with the original costume, tbh

well most people that watch the MCU don't read comics. actual comic readers are a tiny minority. what I meant was for comic readers. what they want. not the entire world. that is what I was talking about.

but the main public doesn't even know what is from the comics and what is different. most people don't even know that a super hero exists until they get a movie.

comics are mostly read by adults now. I think the average youngest age for comic readers is maybe late 20's maybe. something like that. kids don't care anymore. there are few new readers every year. I think probably comics, at least the way they exist right now, will go extinct someday. I just hope they manage to last until I die. keep them alive for the niche loyal people for the rest of our lifetime then you can do whatever you want.

I don't think people care about it adapting the comics perfectly so much as not being shit. These costumes and designs generally just look cheap and/or outright bad.
