When I was 6 I fell face-first upside down onto some jungle gym bars and busted my mouth up really bad. Blood was literally everywhere. It knocked my two front teeth out and I had to get tons of stitches on the inside of my mouth. I still remember panicking when the doctors put the paper thing over my face before surgery and how they got me to calm me down by talking to me throughout. It was a pretty traumatic experience though.

I was legitimately addicted to Sour Skittles for a long time. I quit cold turkey and didn't have any for like 6 years, and then when I had them again it seemed like they made them less sour. I remember Crybabies and Warheads being way more sour before, too, but now they just taste kind of salty.

I love sour candy but am disappointed by the current de-souring trend. It's like enjoying delicious apple pie your whole life and then suddenly they make it so it's only mildly sweet for the first few seconds and then loses all flavor. I die a little inside every time.

In short I don't think it's aged as well as RE 2 or 3 but it's still a great game, though a little marred by the weaker controls and nearly fubared by the Dreamcast D-pad. The story is solid though and overall it's still worth playing.

Nintendo have a long history of going ballistic against pirates going way back to when there were floppy disk-based backup devices, and even before that against companies that just made unlicensed carts for the NES. They were always the first to take it to court while Sega especially and to a certain degree Sony were much more hands-off about it. A Sega dev actually left notes to a hacker group on the Sega Smash Pack disc for Dreamcast on how to hack it to run other ROMs, so their stance goes back a long way, too.

But they're usually awful people and horrible parents. John Marston and what's his name from The Last of Us, for example. Most of the others are just people who happen to have children though it's not central to the plot.

I think that what it comes down to is it's either just a part of their back story or the game is gonna be some sort of escort mission where you're protecting the child. If it's back story then the parent isn't actually there with the child and people associate that with being a bad parent. And if it's an escort mission thing, well, people hate those.
