Bar none. It was Hulk. Iron Man and the others weren't no names like some people claim, you could probably ask a kid who Iron Man was and he'd have at least a passing knowledge because Iron Man didn't only have his own show and toyline, but he actively showed up on Spider-Man and I think had a figure in the Spider-Man toyline. (not to mention his appearances in video games) But yeah, if you asked an adult they'd have no clue. But they'd know who Hulk was, because Hulk had a prime time television show. So if both kids and adults knew who Hulk was...it had to be Hulk. I would even argue that Hulk was arguably the most popular Marvel character for a time in the 80's. |
