i'm still not entirely sure he could have doubled down - the nullifier was placed inside of the urn, and thus reasonably would be read and applied after the point where idols could still be played

there's no confirmation to this and i've heard speculation both ways, but seeing how it was staged it would make more sense to me to go that way

seems to me like the davids are hoping that by voting out the most likeable, unifying member of the goliaths that they can expose the cracks that everyone knows are there. wouldn't be shocked if the game opens up after this episode, but sometimes postmerge i can never quite gauge the way things'll swing

usum was definitely disappointing, but the continual hyperbolic comments about this game being "zero effort" just make no sense to me when there's clearly a lot of unique content that was produced for the game. too often this thread has derailed far past "this isn't for me" into "this is somehow a bad thing for everybody" which doesn't seem to match any of the many reviews or other opinions i've seen across the internet.

pretty much any level of speculation regarding the gen 8 game aside from "it exists" is just that at this point, so yeah - any amount of freaking about over potential changes is overreaction. man, if the next game has pokemon go catching mechanics it's not gonna kill me, and honestly might be a good change. some people are just never gonna let go of those things, and that's fine, but representing it as an inherent problem is just your own take.

barrier ball is a little too random and chaotic for me; it definitely feels like one player can just randomly get screwed outta nowhere

furret's frolic is also similarly chaotic but the scores are much higher, so you can find more opportunities to gain advantages with good play (and aren't punished in the ways barrier ball can)

egg emergency is far and away the best, and i cant even see an argument against it tbqh!! streaming stampede is also very good but is generally pretty easy outside of the hilarious ALL POKEMON round

while this is fair i think it's both thematically fitting and part of the inherent challenge that you've got to have a sense of focus on the timing and rhythm (and there is feedback when you hit a "perfect")

I have really enjoyed what I've read from Julia Serano, fwiw. Her books are lots of relatively short essays on various trans topics with a lot of terminology definitions that help explain her (and others') experiences pretty comprehensively

i thought ryan was pretty lame, but i liked cochran generally, and think christian and adam klein were great

imo once characters get enough edit time they can stand out from whatever caused them to get cast in the first place so none of those people really seem the same at all to me (whereas many, many underrepresented women who got like 3 confessionals blend together, but that's an argument for another day)
