Honestly? I don't mind the episode being advantage-heavy, because it felt like a solid conclusion to several storylines (plus it means we've eliminated 5/6 of the game's advantages in the past two episodes).

The guy burned two idols and not even by bad gameplay, but just by being outsmarted.

Despite his relatively unlikable personality I cant even hate him.

I will say, as great as the blindside was, it does feel slightly unfair. Not that anything likely would have happened differently, but having this totally new advantage that no one had ever heard of pop up and wreck me would have been super frustrating.

I kinda wish they would have known about the existence of the nullifier pre-season. Not when it would come into play or anything, just that it could eventually be a factor at some point.

i'm still not entirely sure he could have doubled down - the nullifier was placed inside of the urn, and thus reasonably would be read and applied after the point where idols could still be played

there's no confirmation to this and i've heard speculation both ways, but seeing how it was staged it would make more sense to me to go that way

Dan's elimination is super satisfying even if it did feel a little unfair for him. Imagine being blindsided by a rule that hadn't existed for 37 years of this show and wasn't revealed until that exact moment.

I want to like Alison and Alec but their refusal to divert from Goliath strong is really beginning to irritate me. Play the game, dammit!

Just watched Dan's Ponderosa. That ending was great.

So I was thinking today, out of 9 episodes so far, only one has been more focused on strategy than character development (though I'd say maybe one other is tied) and that episode saw three advantages played at once for an epic and well-deserved blindside, so the strategy focus is reasonable.
