Ill start:

Masturbation fucks up your testosterone!

No, it doesnt. There is very little-to-no correlation between testosterone levels and ejaculation. All your favorite athletes who claim theyre stronger/tougher for not stroking their junk are just drinking the kool-aid.

Next.

That's the thing though. Professional athletes don't need to masturbate since sex is so readily available for them.

This brings up another thing.

Myth: People with readily available sex don't need to masturbate.

this is a personal preference but yea its kinda true. I'm married and if we're having sex daily, then I have no urge to masturbate.

Been watching alot of videos.

My wife has the whole week off but we live in an apartment and commonly we're both gonna be out at work all day.

He's a 10 week old labradoodle. Not sure how to go about this.

One video I saw set up a play pen with pads all over it, and if they go potty on the pads, then you give em treats and praise them. Then slowly you take the pads away. We'd like to take him out but its 3 days of the week, both of us will be at work, and he's technically going every 2 hours right now. But right now since we're home, he pees and poops anywhere, and before we can run and pick him up and put him on a pad, he's already done.

Not to mention the hyperchloremic acidosis you get from NS.

That's actually the mechanism that NS worsens hyperkalemia...through the acidosis. Whereas LR, a balanced solution, doesn't effect it. There's 3 RCTs that prove this. If anyone wants more info, Google th topic and add Josh Farkas...he had a great post on emcrit about this.

As a doctor, I would do everything I could to not become obese in my later years. I see SO many people with orthopedic problems, back pain, knee pain, random ass leg pains, etc who can barely do any physical activity any more without pain. And so often they have high cholesterol, diabetes, if not pre-diabetes where they should be watching what they eat. They have like no exercise tolerance, can't do anything they used to enjoy. They pretty much all have erectile dysfunction to the point where viagra doesn't even work. I won't even go into heart disease and the comorbidities with that. This kind of stuff also effects your mood and mental health. Most of em have sleep apnea, and for most of em its undiagnosed or untreated, which ends up leading to poor sleep quality, increased blood pressure, increased risk of stroke, heart attack, erectile dysfunction, low energy, increased depression, etc.

Its just not fun.

They really changed the physics from FIFA 16 to 17, then 17, 18, and 19 have been similar, but I think 19 they fine tuned alot of the garbage from the previous games. I think they improved defense for sure as far as tackling goes. Its easier than ever to tackle and play physical without getting fouls.

Just minor stuff that really annoys me is that the extra-time goes by super fast. I know in 16 and 17, extra time felt like it was a bit slower, it would realistically give you a chance. In 18 and 19, it goes by so far, if the opponent takes possession and goes down field, and you steal the ball after a few seconds and try to bring it back, they'll end up calling the game. Its totally wack and unrealistic. To make it better they should slow down extra-time by 1.5 if not 2x what it is.

Also, I hate that when there is a ricochet off the goalkeeper, the ball could be going down the sideline and a guy will come out of nowhere and bicycle kick it straight in, at the worst angle, through like 5 defenders and the goalkeeper just falls down. Its crazy unrealistic.

Anyways

Firstly make sure you have good sleep hygiene. Dim the lights an hour before bed. No electronics in bed. Bed only used for sex and sleep. Sleep at the same time every day. No coffee past noon. Exercise early in the day. Etc you can google more sleep hygiene stuff.

Secondly, I find that warm milk helps me sleep faster, but studies have not shown that it makes a difference. Its probably just psychological for me at this point. You could also try a weighted blanket if you have anxiety. Theres some early studies that show that it might help calm anxiety and help you sleep better. But people telling you to eat sugary stuff does not actually work. Sugar would keep you awake if anything.

Third, melatonin or benadryl can help. Would not recommend this for prolonged daily use. No melatonin does not damage your brain like some people above have said. But dont overdose melatonin either. If you do use it, try the absolute smallest dose possible. I mean like take a 1 or 3 mg tablet, and nibble off a little piece, ~0.3-0.5 mg worth and try that first.

Fourth, would not recommend ambien unless you're have major issues sleeping, you have diagnosed anxiety with insomnia, possibly depression, and you've tried all other methods and nothing works.....AND it interferes with your work. Only in that case would I say you could try ambien.

Calorie counting + Intermittent fasting + every other day working out including cardio and starting strength

Maintaining a macro ratio of 40-30-30 I think is the key. Its super sustainable, I don't get low energy from low carbs, I don't get low satiety from low fats, everything is balanced. I don't even have the cravings to eat out anymore.

And this includes halloween parties, thanksgiving parties, birthday parties, other meals out for whatever reason. Also randomly ate chipotle, ice cream, hostess, etc. The most I've eaten in 1 day is 2900 calories for thanksgiving. But most days its 1500.

I went from 185 to 174. Normally I hang out around 182-184.

Goal is 165 by mid january. So another 5 weeks basically to lose another 9 lbs. Then I'll sustain for a month and start slow clean bulking. Or depending on how my body looks maybe go to 160.

I also wanna keep my notes in there.

Maybe Dropbox? Is there something better. Also I sometimes like to take notes on those articles.

Went from 185 to 175 so far, which is the lowest I've been in years. I know 10 lbs is not much but I've been calorie counting and exercising consistently. And the calories I do eat are 40-30-30 ratio, carbs-protein-fat, and I only eat healthy foods, so most of my fats come from fish, avocado, nuts, eggs. Most of my carbs are whole grains, vegetables. I only eat lean meats and fish. I avoid processed foods and simple sugars.

I feel great. I have no desire to eat unhealthy or eat out. Even chipotle doesnt sound appetizing anymore. And previously I'd eat chipotle 1-2 times per week for the last 4 years, I like it that much.

Goal is 165 by Jan 11th. I have about 6 weeks. I just gotta get through christmas and new years parties and stuff.

I think its the calorie counting that holds you accountable better than any human can.

DanHarenChamp
11/21/18 12:04:32 PM

Yea but getting from beginner-intermediate stage to Momoa or Hemsworth is a long way still, I'll cross that bridge when it comes.

For now, the point is that if I do a strength only program, I feel like I'm neglecting things specific parts of my back, posterior delts, arms, forearms, calves, and even quads. I've separately worked out for extended periods of time twice in my life, first time I was doing high volume legs with squats, hack squats, extensions/hamstrings, lunges, leg press, etc, and my glutes and quads were looking great. They'd be popping out of my regular-fit jeans. And my shirts would hug my shoulders pretty nicely. A few years later I went back to doing pretty much squats and deadlifts only for my legs and I was stronger than ever but nothing showed. Felt good but still. At this point in time I care about looks only. If I want to switch it up in the future, I might do that.

Another good point is that bro-lifting for aesthetics is more fun. Thus its more likely to have me dedicated and consistent. Whereas I'm more likely to skip a strength workout.

I wouldn't mind my west coast federal tax dollars going towards the NY subway revamping. I've used the subway numerous times for work and leisure and its super convenient. I also used to take the bus from north jersey to port authority all the time, right outside the NY times building. Do what it takes, if the subway goes down, we all lose.

And increasing fares is more than reasonable. $3 is pretty reasonable still for how convenient it is.
