Your analogy with the trip is very poor. If someone invites you on a trip, that means it's a done deal and you're going. Sending a resume to a company isn't a done deal at all. There's a very slim chance that sending a resume to any company will result in a job offer. Yes, you can pack and take time off from work to get ready for the trip, but I hope to god you didn't do something that stupid when you sent the resume. I hope you didn't quit your current job hoping that you would now have a new job. That would be very stupid of you. It's a ridiculous analogy comparing a resume to a trip.

Are you intentionally being this dense? I was recruited. I did not apply, and was directed to provided my information as I was told it was a necessary formality.

Canned chicken is best in my opinion if you mix it with Miracle Whip (or generic equivalent) and chopped, cooked bacon, to make cold chicken bacon salad sandwiches. If you want to cook with diced chicken, it's best that you buy chicken raw/frozen and cook it properly.

Well that's really petty of you to hold a grudge over something so insignificant. You do realize that you're not the only person who applies for a job, right? There are hundreds (sometimes even thousands) of people who apply for the same job as you. What most likely happened is that they were considering you, but in the end there was someone who was better qualified and so they hired that person instead. You also can't expect a call back just for them to say that they aren't hiring you. Very few companies do that. Think about it logically for a minute. If there are hundreds (thousands) of applicants, then you can't expect the company to call each and every one of them just to say that they aren't hired.

I was personally recruited by a manager out of the blue. I didn't initiate contact with the company. Not even contacting someone to tell them to look elsewhere is worthy of earning no small amount of ire. It's like inviting someone to go on a trip, and then not telling them that you decided not to go after they packed and took time off of work.

Does time travel move you across infinitely varying timelines, never to return to your own timeline? If so, it has nothing to do with free will. If you go back in time and play the lottery, you moved to a timeline where you appeared from a different timeline to buy lottery tickets. When you return to "the present", you come to a timeline that diverges from your appearance in the relative past via time travel.

I love how the media loves to conflate suicides (with guns) with murders, to grossly inflate their narrative. But we're not allowed to dig into why nearly two orders of magnitude more men commit suicide than women. Gun culture is buying firearms, maintaining them, practicing with them, and teaching others about them. Typically, that's something a father does with his son or daughter.

Now which demographic in the US comes predominantly from homes without fathers, and with abusive mothers? And why is that demographic involved in the most violent crimes per capita? Why don't we address the breakdown of the family unit as the most important crime prevention factor in western civilization, if not human civilization?

Nah, guns bad, orange man bad. Impeach guns, ban orange man.

My CV and resume contain relevant information, such as my prior experience in managing a computer repair store, and my work with a global telecom doing everything from IT to network security to managing corporate and US government accounts. When I worked for [major mobile phone company], most of the people calling in had not changed the batteries. Most of them were depressingly stupid, too. People would argue for minutes on end that the iPhone didn't have a home button, or that because they paid the bill, they owned the account that was not attached to their name or SSN.

I have linked detectors, where if the batteries of one are going, they all beep, but in sequence starting with the one with the low batteries, then the others. Very handy. I use rechargeable batteries, so I always have some ready to pop in, and the near empty ones go in the charger. Not difficult, if even I can manage it.

And criticism of Islam is a capital offense in majority Muslim countries. Of course, a lot of things we take for granted in free nations is "haram". For instance, sending your wife and daughter to the grocery store and to the ice cream shop while you take a shower and relax with a beer after building a deck that morning.

The overwhelming majority of firearm deaths are suicides. Following that is gang on gang shootings. Murders outside of gang BS are comparatively few, and fewer still are deaths caused by carelessness. You are statistically more likely to die in your bathtub, shower, or swimming pool (not even combined, choose any one) than to be killed by a gun.
With that out of the way, everyone who is not a felon, abuser, drug addict, illegal alien, or a confirmed danger to the public, should have at least one gun. As has been said many a time before now, an armed society is a polite society. If everyone on the street COULD have a pistol on them, then mugging people becomes a bit too risky. Why should women and the elderly be expected to outrun or outfight a criminal who could bench press them? Should everyone sit around waiting to become another statistic? There have been several times where I had needed a gun, and didn't have one. Didn't end well, either. Even my local police explicitly told me that they prefer the law-abiding public to not only be armed, but to leave them with only one side of the story in the case of a break-in/mugging/home invasion.

MisterXiado

I know a few cops and other people in law enforcement, and it's worse than you can imagine (at least in the US). Police forces tend to avoid hiring those with a high IQ, as they're more likely to countermand orders, and do things that result in a lot more paperwork and trouble with the city. They want people who will follow orders and not report misdeeds. Even if you don't get nothing but hamfisted morons on the force, there are two major issues with corruption. Internal corruption, where if you report any of it, you are pretty much done as a cop, if not worse, and the personal corruption. This is when your only interactions with people outside of your friends and family are people who are breaking the law, usually in a dangerous way. Police training is bad enough with every officer being having the idea that every suspect is a ninja terrorist drilled into them, but to have that idea reinforced through constant experience? If every time you ran into a person of a particular ethnicity, they were hurting or robbing someone, would you maintain a positive impression of the majority?

It's rather fun waiting for return calls/emails from employers after providing your resume and CV, following up, and still not even getting a "no", like you live off of the morning dew or something.

Meaning you didn't even get an interview?

Correct. Typical procedure now is:
1: Review application.
a: If CV is attached, applicant is over-educated, and will engage in disputes with management, or will risk the employment of all superiors, if the applicant does not immediately jump to the next job hiring at a more attractive pay rate. Round file application. Else, continue.

2: Check applicant's social networking profiles.
a: If not present, round file application.
b: If present, determine if applicant is an alt-right nazi bigot (follows or likes Republican politicians/officeholders)
b1: If so, round file application, else continue.
c: If profiles are not sufficiently tenured, roundfile, else continue.

3: If access to NICS is available, determine the ethnicity and other labels of the applicant. The more boxes we can check, the better, but if unavailable, contact applicant for face to face review. Be certain to confirm pronouns and such; we can't afford to upset Kris in corporate HR again.

Why are so many American women complaining about "oppression".....when they wouldn't know TRUE oppression if it came up and bit them in the ass?

Did you guys know that in India, when a woman is having her period....many communities have the woman leave the house and force her to live in a "menstruation hut" because it is seen as unclean in their culture? Did you also know that hundreds of young women die every year in these menstruation huts due to smoke inhalation (while trying to stay warm in northern India) and poisonous snake bites in the warmer months? It's basically a glorified dog house.

You never hear any feminists complain about that sorta stuff.

All it would take is a Women's Rights group to travel to India and politely educate them in the very normal, healthy, and perfectly natural phenomenon of female menstruation.....and lives could be saved.

The people here don't care about women in actual danger, and will never start speaking out against the policies of honor killings, stonings, lashings, FGM, and other horrific abuses of women. They will tilt at windmills, fighting the oppression of being asked to perform equal work.
