I nominated Mask of the Phantasm because I saw the nomination topic around the time all the obvious choices were already nominated, so I thought it would interesting to see what you could to do a film that was already good to make it even better.

I've seen a lot of people suggest that Bowser will get a boost because of Bowsette, so I was wondering if the same thing would apply to other characters who have memes. For example, Guile's Theme, Ugandan Knuckles Crash Bandicoot Whoa, or almost everything to do with Waluigi. Or is Bowser only getting a Bowsette boost because she's currently a meme and the other memes I mentioned are all old?

Bold prediction: Cap and Tony both sacrifice themselves to defeat Thanos, and Thanos dies with a smile on his face, because if these two people with such different personalities and worldviews who really don't get along are able to put aside their differences in the face of a common foe, maybe balance does exist in the universe after all.

I see Captain America as having a character arc similar to Solid Snake. He's a soldier who has known nothing else but war. He's kept up the fight for years, even as everyone around him has either died or moved on. Even Bucky has acclimatised to the modern day better than him, now that he has rejected his Winter Soldier persona and is building a new life for himself in Wakanda. Cap hasn't been able to let go of the past in the same way. He is the last remnant of his time period, and there isn't a place for him in the world any more. There probably won't be a character in the film saying "Steve had a hard life. He needs some time to rest." but I'll definitely be thinking it.

This sounds fun, and the rule requiring at least one tally nomination is also a good idea. Would that topic need to be kept alive until the bracket is revealed, or would all the nominations made in that topic be copied elsewhere?

I wonder what Street Fighter 5 does for Ryu, if anything. If this contest was being held when that game was new, it would probably hurt him thanks to the poor launch. Two years on, and Capcom have taken significant steps to improve the game, unlike Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite, which they dropped at the first opportunity. It depends on who you ask whether their attempts have been successful or if it's a case of too little too late, and that could have an effect on Ryu's contest performance. On this fourpack specifically, Ryu takes Vincent and possibly Yoshi, but not Sora now that Kingdom Hearts 3 is finally a real and tangible thing.

Oh well, at least I had a good run.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero are both decently strong, but have we ever had any Mortal Kombat character besides them? I think Goro has a good shot at being one of the stronger Mortal Kombat characters besides those two. He would certainly stand out in a match pic with those four arms of his! Since we have 20 nominations this year, that suggests the bracket will be a big one, so I reckon it's worth a shot at getting Goro in.

I was going to nominate Aqua anyway, so I'm thrilled she has a real shot at making the bracket! Since I'm here, I'll also nominate Victor Sullivan. Is he listed as Victor Sullivan or Sully?
