My choice is Ghoul School. Rented it back in the early '90s, and the only places I have spotted it since then have had it under glass next to the likes of Dragon Warrior IV.

Persona 3-4-5 might as well be a different series, IMO. You are correct to infer that Persona 1-2IS-2EP are more akin to original SMT, especially in terms of tone and atmosphere (and dense plot, especially in 2IS and 2EP), and 3-4-5 is more ... modern, and not in a way that appeals to all gamers, which is a fair assessment.

See, I think P5 is cool, but I understand why it is not for everybody. Then again, I also like Deception, though the game mechanics can be clunky in the early entries.

Never played Undertale. The whole hype/mood around the game put me off.

I have no doubt that Undertale is interesting (and I have the original game), but the fandom is so awful that I have been reluctant to invest a great deal of time and effort into it.

Also: If one is looking at Earthbound-a-likes, Lisa exists, and that game is fantastic (... IMO; it is absolutely not to all tastes).

Steam has started to add U.S. sales tax to its purchases. Minor gripe, but still annoying. At least there is a sale going. Picked up the first War of the Human Tanks, among other titles. Still wishing that Aldorlea Games had more of its titles on the Steam Store, rather than exclusive to its web site.

Also wondering if the Crunchyroll / Funimation divorce means that Funimation will start putting more of its titles back on Hulu. Will have to investigate.

A game that tries to do a ton of different things, often to its credit, but it also misses the mark a fair portion of the time. A worthy sequel, IMO, but it can definitely be off-putting.

Still need to get to Castlevania Season 2, since a large share of this weekend has disappeared down the Soul Calibur VI rabbit hole.

I do agree that Dinofrio Kingpin is one of the best things, if not the best thing, about Netflix Daredevil.

And I have not seen the BBC Hitchhiker's Guide, but I have heard of it.

104 GB install, so ... no. No me gusta.

I do pre-order games, but that is because almost all of the games I play are JRPGs, and the Game Stop policy for those is that I am unlikely to get a copy at all unless I pre-order one. :-P

I have no opinion where Fortnite is concerned, since it requires online multiplayer, which is generally not for me. (I loved Awesomenauts, but it got too salty for me; MOBAs and the like are not a genre I enjoy.)

Most of the D&D players with whom I have recently played default to Chaotic Neutral in order to not have to think too hard about alignment. Their characters just do what is expedient, though I do have one player who is purposely playing Lawful Good in the same group in order to see whether or not he can stick to it.

Plus issues like diversity just get lip service anyway because it's not something they believe in, it's a token effort under the assumption that it appeases viewers.

And I suspect this is true for ... pretty much every entertainment provider that exists.

Yep same, had it on the SNES with AllStars, best version.

I fit into this category, too. The NES cartridge was almost impossible to find (and expensive!) back in the day, so, as soon as I had a shot at Super Mario All-Stars, I got that version and rocked out.

Yeah, they removed that topic from the anime forum and stuffed it in one of the "Misc." forums to try and get it to die off. No luck. People are still mad about High Guardian Spice.

I have not. My RPG Maker experiences are limited to Android (i.e. Kemco), Steam (i.e. Aldorlea Games and friends), and several free-to-play titles. But it does not surprise me that eroge exist in that format.

Crunchyroll has been making a ton of bonehead decisions this past year. As far as I can determine, the company has shed most of its staff, especially in the support department, resulting in a lack of updates for its apps / video players (i.e. tons of buffering, freezes, etc.), plus a big difference between the Crunchyroll platform and the VRV platform. There are other issues, but that is the gist.

Crunchyroll and Funimation got a divorce, thanks to Sony (... again; they are going above and beyond as of late). Going to have to see how much damage that does to the Crunchyroll catalogue.

If the U.S. PS2 release of Dragon Quest VIII had not had orchestrated music, I doubt so many people would be complaining about the lack of it in the new game.

Another episode of the Conception anime. I feel bad for the main character (name unimportant, as it generally is for generic milquetoast harem protags). Episode 1 makes it look like he has to do the dirty to make a Star Child, but Episode 2 shows that both partners only have to want to do the dirty to get a Star Child, so he ends up blue-balling it.

New Senran Kagura anime = Uncensored.

Upcoming Senran Kagura remake on PS4 = Censored. Because Sony. First game in the series to be censored in any way, but only on console. Steam version is still uncensored.

I am as confused as XSEED is as to why this happened. The Switch game that has you poking Asuka is still uncensored.

Watched the first episode of the Conception anime. It was ... pretty much the hot mess that was expected. And now I understand why the first game didn't get localized. There's no Classmating in this. You want your Star Child, you're straight-up getting your freak on. With your harem of a dozen 'maidens'. Several of whom are lolis.
