She just got a really bad first draw in Yoshi(a fairly popular Nintendo character). If she had gotten someone more obscure, she would have had a chance.

I don't know if she'll hit 30% against Yoshi, but I agree that Shantae will outperform expectations. She's a very visually-striking character (not talking about TJF either), her games have consistently been acclaimed and have a solid cult following, and demand for her inclusion in Smash Ultimate has given her some extra visibility as well.

She'll be fodder, and Yoshi is a particularly bad opponent for her to face, but I don't think she'll be turbofodder or a bottom-10 character. Shantae would wipe the floor with Chloe Price, Cayde-6 and Hat Kid, let's be real.

I really don't think Aloy is going to amount to much, so D.Va should have no problem there. She'll need bandwagon/outside support to advance beyond that, though I also think her base strength will be reasonable. Low-midcardish.

IMO: Mega Man X > Ryu > Zero > Dante > Leon.
