Depends, are you collecting unemployment? Cuz that'd be better. I was on temporary disability for 6 months one time, that was awesome, plus I still worked my side job while collecting $700 a week, and since I was getting paid by commission, Ill was actually still getting paychecks for like the first month.

It was especially cool cuz I knew that I was still employed with a great job I loved doing, I wasn't sucking up the tax payers money and while I may have been fudging the system a little bit, it was just by working when I'm not supposed to which is nothing to be ashamed of.

But that's pretty how things work. That is how people decide which movies that they will go see. They watch trailers and the studios attempt to put their best foot forward to entice movie goers to buy a ticket. And people generally decide if a movie looks good to them or not, before seeing the film. There are obvious other factors, but it ultimately comes down to if you feel like seeing a great/good/mediocre/shitty movie or not. And those assessments are perfectly fine to make.

A prediction is fine, it's people who claim they know the movie is terrible to the point that they root for it to be bad, cuz they'd rather avoid having to admit they were wrong than have an awesome Venom movie to enjoy.

Or, or, or, sometimes we take into account of things like the people working on the film like the director (who doesn't have a great track record) or the studio (who also doesn't have a great track record) or some of the usual red flags, like the number of writers and our feelings on the trailers, to support our assumption about the film.
Let's not act like people are hating on this for no reason. It's okay to have your opinions of something pre-release. We all do it. The final product will ultimately either change your mind or it won't.

It's actually not ok to have an opinion of a movie you haven't seen. See it'd be different if people were just saying that there are red flags or that it seems to have similarities in production with previous films that flopped, but no people are saying "I'm not going to watch this shitty movie" and the kind of preconceived notion of a movie can be the difference between a movie having minor and completely flopping.

This is a completely valid and rational line of thinking. I can tell while you expect it to suck, you want it to be good. Other people get so hyped up on their prediction that it'll suck and the echo chamber of other people claiming it sucks before it even comes out that they actually want it to be garbage because they've become so invested in their own prediction. It has been happening with actors too. A good example of this is Ben Affleck as Batman and Jared Leto as the joker, both did a great job but people got so invested in their prediction of them sucking that it actually affected how their films performed and how their performances were judged.

I didn't think you were lying, I was just noting how funny it'd if you were. Reminds me of this poster Shred on the NFLB. Who always got made fun of by the main clique there but he desperately wanted to be a part of it so he just kept coming back for more abuse, it was pathetic. Then one day the main leader of the clique accused this new poster of being Shred on an alt which the guy incredulously denied. They kept harping on this new guy and he was getting kinda flustered until hours, or it might have even been a day later the dude admitted to being Shred lmao, he wrote this long ass post saying that it doesn't matter and that he thinks the other guys should be more embarrassed by how much they cared and blah blah blah all these excuses for his behavior. It's hilarious cuz you could tell he honestly believed that he had successfully turned the tables and everyone was just going to be on his side and agree with him. He literally got laughed off the board. It was so brutal. The best part is that be deserved it all tho, he would constantly belittle other posters and be super condescending cuz he thought that would make "the cool kids" like him and accept him into their group. So he was a prick that shit on other posters, especially if they were already being picked on by other posters cuz he was a pile jumper and really too much of a bitch to start shit on his own.

There are just somethings you can do that will force you to ban yourself from a board or even a whole site like when Sayoria photoshopped PMs to make it look like Deadpool_18 was hitting on her and asking for sexy pics even tho he was super transphobic. Sure that occurs, but it requires consistent under tipping over a number of visits and even then it's likely not even noticeable by the customer. Unless it's some kinda perfect storm customer from hell where she is incredibly demanding and needy and a consistent under tipper who continues going to the same restaurant despite always complaining about her experience.

This is a great point. The only ones exploiting anyone are the people who don't tip they're breaking the social contract we have (which is basically honor code to not be a shitty person ) in order to save a few dollars. No it's clear that they're just antisocial people who don't give a shit about anyone else. Meanwhile the rest of us actually enjoy the sense of community you get from taking part in social customs like tipping. I mean I know when I tip that it makes me feel good. I don't get that same feeling at all when I buy food from grocery store or really any time all of my money is going to a business. See if I'm paying $25 including a $5 tip, it makes me feel good that I'm giving money to this person who has been servicing me and treating me so well, and that person is happy to see that their service and friendly attitude warranted them getting a good tip, it makes them feel good about themselves just like tipping made me feel good about myself. Now if everything was the exact same except we remove tipping and replace it with higher menu costs, I'm paying the same amount of money and the server is doing the exact same job but neither of us gets that good feeling from the tip. Of course I don't understand that, it's completely detached from reality lmao. No one should be expected to understand some nonsense you concocted in your head or pulled out of your ass, which is the same thing I guess. No server expects more %20 and almost every server is satisfied with %15. It's when you get around %10 despite giving good service that anyonw gets a little irked. But even then, it's just a little irked and you the customer never face any consequences for it unless you're egregiously undertipping at a place you frequently eat at, and that consequence would beazy service or at worst, a refusal to serve you, but I've never even heard about a restaurant refusing to serve a guy cuz he didn't tip enough.

And I'm not stuck in any job, im a sales rep for a bread company, tho I do bartend once or twice a week because I enjoy it so much. Lol and you think that it doesn't take skill to serve or bartend? Sure maybe at Dennys, but at the high end places I've worked in Las Vegas and Waikiki and on Maui as well? You wouldn't be able to even get hired at those places, let alone actually do the job. For one you actually have to be friendly and charismatic, it's also a lot more physically demanding than most people realize. Then you have to be knowledgeable on the menu down to every ingredient in every dish, and what kind of wine to pair with each dish. You have to know these things for people who have allergies to certain foods, or for people who pretend to have allergies like gluten free diets. There's so much more I could go into, including how good servers don't take orders, they sell dishes, which is part of why I got I to sales after leaving the F&B industry. But I wouldn't expect someone like you to understand this.

Oh and as good as my current job is, I was still making more money in Las Vegas albeit I was working two jobs. But to be able to make close to 100k a year as a 22-23 year old kid with no college degree? With nothing but a handsome face and charismatic personality? Lol not to mention the extremely hot girls you work with (and inevitably hook up with) are making almost 10xs as much as you are, so how exactly can you call that a shitty job?

And no, being a waiter or bartender doesn't make you dumb, you're allowed to complain about something even if you signed up for it. Most people complain about their jobs, don't be ridiculous. Plus like I said, most people are decent and tip, so we don't have to deal with people like you all that often.

Plenty of tip workers do want a set pay, idk why you'd assume they don't. There are some restaurants that do that and actually don't allow tips. Idk why you'd be ok with paying a set menu price but are not ok with tipping, even tho you'd end up paying the same amount anyways. Really for cheap people like you, you should be happy America has a tipping custom, it means you can be cheap and sace a few dollars every time you go out to eat.

I'm comparing tipping being illegal to slavery being legal, not tipping to slavery. So it actually does help my argument. What used to be the law doesn't have any bearing on what the law should be now.

Of they're working at a shitty restaurant then sure, but what about servers and bartenders making a good living? When I worked in Las Vegas I was a server and bartender and made over 70k/year as a 21-22 year old kid with no college degree.

Except if we didn't have tipping then prices would have to increase to account for the increased pay. So customers wouldnt be affected much if at all.

tipping actually originally was anti american culture. it used to be illegal to tip. was seen as bribing. somewhere along the way, it became accepted and then eventually expected and encouraged

It's part of American culture. In America, we have the word "cheap" to describe the type of person that does things like not tipping. So no matter what your excuse is, if you never tip, you're cheap.

Tipping is part of American culture whether you agree with it or not. People aren't dumb for being waiters and bartenders, you can make quite a bit of money in the right circumstances, far more than most of the people who insult those jobs and act like they're better than people who work them.
