The series is one of Nintendo's corner stones and unlike Animal Crossing it's also geared towards users that frequent GameFAQs. i absolutely agree that metroid is much less a gamefaqs series and as its time as a cornerstone of nintendo drifts further away we'll see samus drop. |

SNES, N64 and Gamecube were all culturally relevant here. The SNES was definitely second place - the most fondly remembered games of the era from people I speak to are Sonic and Streets of Rage, with the odd person here or there having played Super Mario World. I'm sure that Mario characters do just fine in Europe so I don't accept that categorically Nintendo was weak here pre-Wii. But I do know the idea of Mega Man, Crono, Samus et al being as strong as Sonic the Hedgehog has always seemed insane to me! |
