Number 7- Black_Turtle vs the world

On November 15th 2018, former Guru winner @BlAcK_TuRtLe faced off against anybody and everybody on both the Gamefaqs Contests Message Board and the Discord server. He truly gave no f****s. The Tifa/MMX match had just gone down and emotions were still running high from the aftermath on both sides of the match.



















They eventually ended up comparing bank accounts.

BTs fight against everyone on Board 8 was one of the funniest moments of the con season. Maybe it was bullying, maybe it wasn't. But it was for sure entertaining, that I cannot deny.

How is cloud a star?

In relation to his previous strength. Hes declined and had 50/50 matches with Mario and Zelda.

10 years ago hed have 60-40d these guys. Now hes just in that pack below link alongside Samus and snake as well as the other two Ive mentioned

Did he have respectable comp? Sure he got to final. So credit to him but a star? Not even top 10. Id put pikachu ahead of him.

But like I said. Hes had a good comp and wih so much nintendo Dominance its good to see this guy prevail but lets look back at history.

Cloud underperformed a bit. Getting 60-40d by Link isnt good

Cloud doesnt give a shit about beating Mario or Zelda. Hes always been #2 on this site and all hes done is about par Id say.

He made the GRAND final. He beat the supposed "star" of the contest even after she ran roughshot over the Noble 9 and had crazy bandwagon potential.

Number 8- Match pictures for Round 1 revealed!

On October 18 2018 during match 1, Dante vs Cuphead, the match pictures FOR THE ENTIRE ROUND were revealed. At the time, we were not sure for how many rounds they were going to be used, but it was a surprise to many at some of the choices made.















Quiet's picture was particuarly galling... "even Ulti did better"

Number 9- Why does Link 'wine' everytime?




On December 7th 2018, Link battled Cloud in Winners Semis and was in the process of handing him a crushing loss. On that day, I voiced my frustration at Link wineing all the time. I didnt care about spelling I was that mad that Link had to win every time. It came out really funny and I still laugh seeing my topic on there.

I will be including any and all board activity(including the discord server) that I witnessed from the period of October 7th, 2018, when I first heard about the 2018 Character Battle, to the present. I missed the nomination period so I can't have any insight on that.

Number 10- Why We Keep Coming Back

On October 11th 2018, more than 2 months ago during the bracket-making period, there was a topic on the Board about Why we keep coming back.



To me the topic was a great way for everyone to share their reasons for being involved in these contests. The highlight was hearing DoomTheGyarados(Sir Chris, Board 8 User of the 2000s Decade) passionate love letter to the Gamefaqs contests, not just for this year, but for every one he had been a part of in the past.





The topic really put the contest into perspective and made the excitement for the upcoming matches even greater.
