Forget Home Depot for the removal. All you need is a vacuum, floor scrapper and a good breathing mask. Wear long sleeves and pants.
The asbestos fibers in the tile are within it. Pressed in the glue of the tile itself. It will not become airborne through the simple act of removing it. You would have to grind the titles up and have the particles go airborne for it to have any chance of being dangerous.
A floor scrapper is $20 at Lowes. Looks like a large spatula on a metal handle the size of a shovel. Scrape up all the tiles and put them in large trash bags. Thrown them a couple at a time in your regular street trash bin. After those are gone run the vacuum on the subfloor. Use the attachments to get in the cracks. That's it. Wipe down the walls or counters if it's the kitchen. From there check the sub floor. If it's damaged then work on replacing it with 5/8 OSB board. The old wood will not have any asbestos in it or on it. Then have Home Depot put in the rug.

also, in terms of it being a new rule, obviously, this group of people in charge haven't had the issue before, and so they did not need the rule until someone tried to do something new. Serena is allowed to have tried it (within the rules), and they allowed to say they don't like this new thing, and it will not be allowed in the future.

I literally backed out of buying a house when I found out the whole attic was insulated with asbestos. I NOPEd the fuck out of there and backed out of the purchase due to the inspection . Thank god I had an inspection done.

I also had an inspection done. Says nothing about asbestos in the floor, but I'm not sure if they checked.

Home inspections are just surface area inspections.

They wont and don't go out of their way to inspect inside walls or ceilings.

So theres no chance he lifted the carpet up to see old tile under it.

So I called an asbestos specialist. A sample test is $150, but he literally said it'd be a waste of money. He can practically guarantee it is, based on it being 9x9 tile.

He said that if he remove the carpet from the area, he can tell if the tile is still safe and intact.

If the tile is safe, then you can probably get away with laying an underlayment down over the old tile and installing the vinyl directly over it since it should be tongue and groove click tile anyway.

You need to hire a company to take a sample and test it. If it is asbestos you need to do an abatement which is a process where they literally quarantine the area where it's to be removed, set up ventilation tents and high grade fans to remove the dust and asbestos and take it away to be properly disposed of.

Yeah, it's not cheap depending on how many square feet you have.

Also, you're forgetting that all of Rockstars studios work together to develop single titles now which could easily raise the production cost, unless Rockstar had a recent mass layoff or something I didn't hear about.

In today's age of lightning fast internet, video conferencing and web conferencing the "cost" of outsourcing different parts of the game arent as high as you would think.

People can do all the work remotely.

It's actually more efficient using more of your assets and man power instead of isolating the project to a handful of people.

And the argument wasnt that they should pump their profits back into the company. The argument was that they can just sit back and shark card their way to 500m in a year.
