As cold as it sounds, I've been waiting since like 2009 for the opiod & heroin problem to become national news. Junior year of high school alone I lost like three friends to that shit and saw a lot of kids 15-17 years old fucking their lives up on it.

I was talking more violent and property crime, though. I got a lot of family and friends in the SW part of Cleveland proper, near Brooklyn and Linndale, and it's pretty bad. I'm in Garfield now on the East and it's not any better lol.

Im in Parma pretty often btw, two of my best live there.

I lived on Chevy for a few years, up until a couple months ago, and still spend a lot of time there because of friends. I know the northern half of Parma pretty well, from like Ridgewood up to Brookpark. Most of the time I'm there now, though, I go to Big Creek and have people meet me there or stop for lunch near the mall.

Fair enough. Ive pretty much only ever lived in North Ridgeville, North Olmsted, and Berea. All pretty safe cities, all around.

But yeah, the closer you get to downtown, the worse it gets.

My buddies live off of Ridge, I was just out there last night lol.

I can say that alcohol hasnt had any negative effects on my life yet.

No DUIs
Never blacked out or thrown up from drinking
Usually have between 2-4 drinks, and then Im good for the night.

I guess the cost sucks, but Ive only maybe ever spent $500 on booze in my entire life.

So I guess my friends job has one nice business trip a year, usually island type resorts, and you can bring your family. Usually lasts about a week.
Everyone from the company goes down. This year it was in Cabo.

But like everything that could go wrong, went wrong.

Planes to and from had bad delays.

People were getting food poisoning literally every day, from a variety of restaurants. To the point that they were afraid to eat anything from the resort. They had to drive into town to eat safely.

The worst part though, my friends co worker drowned and died. His wife was trying to take a pic of the water on some rocks, slipped and fell in, he chased after her and got pulled in by undertow

Same. It saddens me the metro parks ain't more well-known outside of the locals. I spend so much time at the ones in Parma and Willoughby during the warm months. Even just to drive through it is great.

The crime and never-ending construction are the only real complaints I have. I would like to move away for a couple years, but Cleveland's always gonna be home.

Yeah, the construction part never seems to end. Im sure youve heard people say we get two seasons, construction and winter lmao.

Then stop being a shut-in. Do you think your grandfather met your grandmother by staying inside? How about your dad? Take this as a learning experience. Your dream girl isn't going to be delivered to your door.

This is modern dating. Ive been with close to 40 women, and I met a vast majority of them online.

People still meet in person, sure, but its not nearly as common as it was.

NE Ohio in particular is pretty bad, it's just this narrow strip of blue that comes down from lake erie (that hugs the coastline) from Cleveland into Akron and down through Youngstown and on over to Pittsburgh. That's basically how it looked after the midterm anyways.

This state needs fixed, basically the pundits are saying Ohio is solid red and no longer a swing state anymore. It's a swing state without a voice, basically.

Very true. Cleveland area is probably a 50/50 mix. The entire rest of the state is all repub.

You local to the area?

It was a valve on the front hose spicket. But the spicket is covered by a bush, so we couldnt see it whatsoever.

No leak or anything in the house obviously, so no warning signs of what was going on. Thankfully the water dept told us when they did.
