I believe it's just a matter of time before we get a "real" Daredevil or Punisher in the MCU films. I don't really think it's an actual problem to have supplementary stories, like KotOR or the Marvel Netflix films, that the people in charge don't care about. If anything I'm more skeptical about the new Star Wars canon, because not only are they assuring us that they actually do care about all the material, but they've even incorporated some aspects into the films (though only Rogue One and Solo so far) which is madness. I don't see it working out really because there's a finite amount of in universe time and events between Episode 1 and Episode 9, and Disney is going to jettison stuff eventually so they can make more films and cartoons. Which is just going to lead to more of a clusterfuck, especially because it's incredibly obvious there's no one at the steering wheel of the Star Wars mythos at the moment. --- |

It had Lucasfilm approval, which is all canon functionally ever meant to Star Wars (as flimsy an approval as that was and subject entirely to George's whims). It doesn't have that anymore. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see Disney remake or reimagine KotOR, as their story group has already borrowed some concepts heavily from the old EU. I very much doubt a true sequel will ever exist though, given KotOR's age and lack of direct relevance to anything other than a dying (dead?) mmo. --- |
