There is a reason things used to be much more strict, this is what happens when you loosen the caller and tell Americas youth over and over that everyone else is privileged and it's the systems fault and nobody who is rich worked for it blah blah blah.

Add that to the additional dysfunction going on in the family lives of many people (some areas of the population have like a 60% single motherhood rate and it's bad across the board tbqh) in poverty stricken areas, and this is the result.

Not sure what to do about it. Probably start trying to make our towns and cities nicer instead of building a border wall.

The right has people like Jordan Peterson and Ben Shaprio. Even though I would consider Jordan Peterson kind bi-partisan, the fact he is so against this identity politics stuff is kind of putting him on the right by simply disagreeing with the left.

Ben Shapiro make strong arguments and although I dislike his religious viewpoints (particularly when talking about gay marriage) I can totally get down with what he says about almost every other issue. He has a lot in common with Ron Paul in this regard, except Ron Paul never really brought his religion into the debate, in his words "It's really nobody's business, certainly not the governments, what individual churches decide to do about gay marriage".

I'm having trouble finding Liberals who speak as eloquently as people like these guys and can defend their positions as well.

I know this seems like I'm baiting, but I'm not. I'm concerned if I developed a bias because of my strong believe in personal responsibility and my dislike for putting people into groups. Is this making a conservative? I don't think so....

So, any good podcasters/politicians/whatever o the left that can basically not sound like an idiot? That's all I'm looking for.

I guess the closest thing I have found would be someone like Bill Mahr.

Yeah, I've seen people addicted to it. I've also seen people quit cold turkey no problem for jobs. In fact I've seen it several times. I've also seen people function in high stress environments on the stuff. This isn't a simple king of drug---it can affect people in many different ways. In a way i guess that's why it's dangerous but in low doses (Which is really all you need) it's almost harmless.

As George Carlin said, it's a value changing drug that''s self limiting---meaning once you've used up it's usefulness you don't really want it anymore. Exceptions are people that have chronic pain or are addicted for other reasons, like depression/anxiety/whatever.

No, this was in the midwest. During a very, very hot summer though. The family themselves are from the south, have been in the midwest for about ten years tho.

All the kids attend public school. And idk, she got a job at a food joint so I don't think they are hermits. They do live in the boonies though, but considering the area almost everywhere is the boonies.

And I know they have good diets. Some of the food she brought in was so healthy it was gross. Her slightly younger brother would come in a lot and eat...so still kinda normal teenagers?

And this family is ****ing JACKED. They are all super healthy and athletic. The dad is like 52 and looks a mini Dwayne Johnson.

So, the eldest girl in the family, she's about 19, she worked for me the past year and over the summer she was doing a side job with her dad. They were like, redoing the walls in an old house that happened to be infested with mice.

They never took her to the hospital. Or gave her any drugs. They just prayed and gave her some "holistic" stuff.

This girl was back to work in a week and a half and was chipper af.

Am I doing health wrong, or is this just a case of them being lucky? Besides that, in a year she was only out for two other days from illness a bout with the flu last spring. She said she slept for 40 hours in two days, was back to work on Monday.

This is actually a true story. They are very, very religious. But super nice people.

GTA V single player is fantastic. Multiplayer was ok, now if you don't dump money into it it's mehh....the custom games are super fun tho, if you're playing on PC especially.

But yeah anyone who says the single player is "meh" i'm just so surprised at. Playing thru IV, about 30 missions in it's just not as interesting as GTA V. The mission variety in V is just way bigger, and the set pieces more Uncharted-level.

It's no secret shootings are good for ratings and clicks. That's why they run so many stories about it. About the victims families, about the life of the shooter. Most of the the coverage they do besides the initial report is not "news". There is no reason to go in depth and have family interviews and stuff like that. That is not news. It has been proven over and over this causes others to follow in their footsteps, like all the shootings are compounded on each-other because these ****ed up people see the attention it gets and it gives their message so much power. And any time someone gets on the news to say this stuff they get cut off/blasted.

I dont know what the word is to describe that.

At first it seemed super silly to me. But once I dug in a little bit, it seems normal to me now. I get part of that is quality advertising these bug publishers do to push their game into an E-Sport. I mean the fact the winner of TI8 is going to make more than the winner of the 2017 PGA Master's tournament.....that makes it pretty damn official. These players play eight hours a day and try to keep a strong mental and physical health.

I just think Dota 2 is one of the better game suited to an "E-Sport". Shooters are too fast with little down time to discuss strategy.

That's just Twitch, though. TI is streamed in three different places, in many different languages and a lot of people just watch VODs of E-Sports, like myself. I believe the total concurrent viewers for the top LSC tournaments can go well into the millions.

I feel like LoL isn't as interesting IMO and it's less dynamic for sure---the map in LoL is just smaller. There aren't as many scenarios that can play out. Also, Dota 2 has typically been more balanced than League. At this International, almost every hero in the game has been picked---except a select couple I believe. And there is a good chance these heroes will appear late in the tournament in some sort of "pocket strategy".

Also the power levels of the heroes in the games are different. In Dota 2, there is a hero that can teleport to any point on the map. League never gives a power that high to one of it's Champions. In Dota 2, some "ultimate abilites" have really long cool-downs. A lot are over a minute and a handful are higher than two minutes. But they are really powerful. League has far less of these kinds of abilities.

Someone once described Dota 2 as being balanced by the fact every hero is "broken" compared to LoL. Therefor, the drafting stage of the matches are much more interesting compared to LoL, and matchups aren't nearly as black and white.

I hit gold in League in my first season last summer coming off Dota. But I can see why if you play League why League is more interesting. I guess I did start with Dota 2 first so I am biased. To each there own.

It was more like I branched out to every MOBA but kept going back to Dota 2.

Dota 2 (The second biggest game in the MOBA genre) is holding it's annual International tournament--a 28 million dollar tournament that caps the end of each season. Yes that's right. The prize pool is 28 million dollars. For a single tournament.

The stakes are higher at this E-Sports event than in any other. It makes for some of the best E-Sports viewing, including heartbreaking losers interviews (my personal favorite).

For those interested, there is even a Newbie stream. I played a lot of Dota 2 but have weened off it as life responsibilities get more serious, but I still enjoy the game and I honestly compare a good Dota 2 match to a good game of football---except without commercials every few minutes.
