Very intelligent and caring but usually stoned dad, didn't really pull his weight around the house but also did far too much for me that I should have been learning to do myself. He's changed a lot for the better and we have a great relationship, one of my favourite people.

Mother with anger issues but also really caring at the same time, sadly she had cancer for most of my childhood before dying when I was 14.

Both of my parents had tough lives and wanted to do their best for me, but I was a difficult child (aspergers, depression, psychotic episodes). Still I love them both dearly and miss my mum a lot.

Not in that situation but I would if her husband wasn't being good to her.

This argument is dumb and needlessly hostile. Personally I think film in a lot of ways is reaching new heights with every passing year, but I wouldn't call loving old films pretentious and there's also styles of films that were made in the past that wouldn't get made today that I have a lot of time for.

Since I've been home for Christmas people keep saying I've lost weight, not ate as much this year as I've been doing most of the cooking and not really snacking. I thought the beer, cider and wine would have made me put on a bit.

Probably for the best, I'm p large.

Used to be an average weight but then had a diet of beef or fried chicken every night with potatoes, red wine or cheap bourbon and a family sized cheesecake. Went from 182 pounds to 255 in about a year. Not good but it seems to work. I was really insecure and wanted to put on weight to cover up my protruding sternum + had mad depression.

Don't hate your body though man, I get that but the body isn't all you are.

I haven't finished it.

Most of the world has hated America and its governments for centuries, Trump is just a new low point.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, that's the peak of British tv comedy for me.

Black Books was amazing but that's British + Irish. There's some great comedy minds and writers like Peter Cook and Chris Morris, Stewart Lee for standup comedy.

British mainstream comedy and comedians are mostly trash though sadly, saying this as a British person living in the UK.

I'm getting on better with my family but I'm very depressed, my physical health has gone to shit, I'm incredibly lonely and I have barely any money because of government disability assessors lying out their arses.

My dad got me into games. Used to play Street Fighter with him when I was 4 or 5 then watched him play stuff like Half Life and Carmageddon. We used to play Battlefield 1942 and Unreal Tournament via LAN. Now whenever he comes up to visit we'll play some games and get drunk. Lately it's been Mario Kart. I'm going home for Christmas so I'll take my Switch and we'll play Mario Kart and maybe some Smash. He's also started playing Pokemon Go after seeing me on it.

My first thought would be that she's a drama queen and exaggerating/making it up for attention/egging him on. That's just my personal experience.

Alcohol mostly but I really enjoy sleeping while having a fan blowing on me. Even in the winter.

Both of these although tried to cut down on the alcohol. It's not just sleeping, having a fan on me relaxes me when I'm awake so it's usually on then too.
