The formula's the same. At best friends, it's 40,000 for a shiny/legendary you don't already have in your pokedex. 800 is a shiny/legendary you do have, or any other kind of special trade.

I ended up evolving 5 Sceptile:

87% lucky
82.2%
60% (big guy, caught at 8000 stardust)
48% shiny

Got 2 shinies total which I'm satisfied with. Gives me one to use in mid league, and one to be a Grovyle and look cool.

Smeargle can't be useful anyway, because it's normal and can't get STAB on anything super-effective.

I used to always have extra TMs, but that was before pvp. Getting movesets for little league and mid league basically uses all my TMs.

Also my phone battery is garbage in the cold. On the way to work, I was doing a Palkia raid with my phone at 70% and it shut off from low battery. I just had to leave. There were like 17 of us, it was a free win =/

The thing I was saying with Ana though is that she's a sniper whose got combat cred, sure, but more importantly can heal via sniping, which sets her apart from like every other healer mage type merc. I don't think we have anyone else that can heal their teammates from that far away. It lets her stay out of danger while still healing her team, as opposed to other healers like Aerith who might get written off as battle fodder

I don't know Overwatch but this sounds good and also a cool unique role

Yeah I'm not opposed to TF2 guys in principle. Spy is a lot of fun and I don't really know the others well enough to say. But they likely get more focus/interest solo (and if some are not interesting enough to be a solo merc, those probably shouldn't be in).

I am pretty unfamiliar with SMT lore. Can someone explain the Demi-fiend hype? A lot of people were super bullish on him but didn't really explain why.

Misc tidbits I'm aware of:
- I played and enjoyed SMT4 but don't recall much in terms of plot/cutscene feats. But apparently DDS is where the big hype comes from anyway?
- The main argument I remember from MPFC is "He beats God" which I've always thought is pretty silly. Any 3/week RPG character can beat God. The Chrono Trigger cast beats a planet-destroying entity and nobody particularly respects them (maybe we should?)
- Cielo from DDS flies faster than a jet plane and then dies but the point is, he fast
- Heat got a ton of respect in M3 because he had Null Phys. This is fair. I'm totally willing to respect gameplay gimmickry. But I feel like the Demi-fiend respect is largely plot hype?

Depends on why he dies in-game. If the timer is "this is how long he can survive in this unstable mutated form" it should translate to mercs (although Tidus wouldn't know that, and could still die against that form because he doesn't realize he can stall it out). If it's like "this is how long the fight lasts until he gets hit by a bus" then obviously it doesn't translate.

I've always earnestly been of the belief that a good terrain is worth more than two or three decent battle mercs. You can pull off absolute bullshit unless you're not entirely outclassed. And even when you are, you can run around kiting Dragon Ryu against the absolute weakest of turrets and people will still buy it a little.

Don't get me wrong, I love absolute bullshit terrain arguments. But I don't usually vote for them. Terrain can swing a moderate power difference if there's a big stylistic difference between the teams (melee vs. range especially) but it's rarely THAT big a factor, unless it's waterball.

Terrain tends to favor Kain, who can function well at close quarters (heavily armored melee) or in a more range-y terrain (because he can jump to attack, then jump back to a safer range at will). Whereas the double dragons really need close quarters to attack. Even in something like "a generic big field" I think Kain has the edge because the dragons' movement is so slow that Kain can just hit-and-run the whole time.

The only time Kain is disadvantaged is if the terrain is so small/confined that he can't properly wield his spear or use jump attacks.

(Also ftr I ignored the gimmick armor because phys immunity is just silly)
