I enjoyed the lock. Without the lock I don't like Symettra. I don't get any enjoyment from her sustained hitsscan beam.

Real talk: this is the main problem with Overwatch's sustained popularity as a game. It built its initial design on giving a bunch of characters ridiculous abilities and going "all the wackiness will balance each other out!". But as the game has progressed, people optimized the dumb crap (anyone remember early Widowmaker?) and it became extremely unfun to play against. So they either remove the dumb crap and make the fans of those characters mad, or they leave it in and everyone else has a bad time fighting them.

Oh, and as a side note, I'd prefer games that will last me a fair while or have replay value. I'll definitely look into the good 10-15 hour games recommended but I also got a budget to consider.

Essentially I want a game where I can concentrate on something else in the background at the same time and still be able to play without stressing over what's going on. Bad example would be Fire Emblem Three Houses, where distractions would hurt my immersion and make me miss out on dialogue. Good example is Slay the Spire, where I have all the time in the world to make my card decisions.

Bayonetta is not anywhere near as sexualized as Mai is, and the part that was (loses clothes when summoning) was heavily toned down.

You have to understand that 'sexualized' in this case means 'covers up'. Corrin and Mythra got censored for stuff that wasn't that bad. The degree of censorship they would have to do to put Mai in would defeat the purpose of the character and make all her fans mad, because frankly speaking her design *is* her character.

The accent just means there's an extra scene/rank in their Support chain. C, B, B+, and A means that there's four different scenes in the chain.

Undertale is split into 2 parts. Everything else are minor things that matter, like Telltale games
Mass Effect is the same thing, your choices matter for little things as well

Undertale has a lot of little things that affect how the world reacts to you in a non-Genocide route, with characters' opinions of you and their eventual fate changing based on who you kill. And the Genocide route itself is so wildly different in tone and story that it's maybe the best usage of choice in gaming ever, especially with how often it hammers into you that you can stop being a monster at any time if you chose to.

Mass Effect choices mostly affect little things, but 3 actually has quite a few things that decide the fates of major characters and entire races, with many of your options being limited based on what you did in previous games. If the ending hadn't been so bad then it would be heralded as one of the best examples of a 'decisions matter' game.

Most Telltale games don't even throw you a bone. Everyone you save will end up dead in 2 seconds anyway, and every situation plays out exactly the same no matter how you approach them.

The Phys/Spec change is the one big change in the core gameplay that was meaningful and a step forward even for people who dont care about competitive, but it still didnt change the gameplay loop of battling. Which is fine, dont fix what isn't broke.

Actually, best example I can think of is that Pokemon is the JRPG version of Madden. Stuff can change but people mostly buy the new ones for graphics and roster updates.

Hot (maybe) take here: which Pokemon game you prefer largely comes down to aesthetics, such as music or Pokemon designs. Unless you care about the competitive scene, the series hasn't evolved much at all since its inception. Outside of general quality-of-life changes there's mostly just been the addition of gimmicks no one really cares about like double battles or Mega forms. With that in mind, you could vote for virtually any generation and I wouldn't bat an eye.

You could say that some of the games have better stories than others, but I would argue that it's more that some Pokemon games have more story than the others. None of them are particularly good or the reason people play these games.

it was mostly me going to their wikia pages, looking at the sidebar for "hometown" and trying to find a decent resolution picture of that hometown and then clonestamping out any people in the picture
